Diallo vs Pellistri

Amad to play behind the striker while Pellistri will most likely be sold
No it’s about Diallo. He’s been brilliant ever since he started and pretty much the best player for Sunderland.

Erm...

I think Pellistri will leave. He keeps playing well without getting game time. Just seems as though ETH doesn’t like some facets of his game

ETH should be fair and give Pellestri a run of games to prove himself. If he fails to prove himself then sell him

It really isn't

If Martial is on £250k/week how do you think it's possible to sell him? He is barely available over the years. Who would want to gamble on him?

He's staying whether we like it or not.
I think he is in his last year, I suspect he is gone for free this summer.

Ahh no, 2024 with a +1.

You seem to completely ignore team strength and style.

Also, Garnacho is a wide forward while Pellistri is far more of a creator and workhorse winger. Look at his role for Uruguay too. (btw, the fact that he is an Uruguay international player itself should tell you something about his potential, that's not a tiny nation with no football talent pool)

But he is. Second best rated player under the age of 21 with more than 200 minutes played this season. Not really sure what do you expect.

Different players fit differently in different systems. Managers find ways to extract the maximum out of their abilities and skillset. Ten Hag seems to be a very smart and capable manager in that regard. The only question is whether he will find Amad and Pellistri useful for his plans.

Exactly. So putting Garnacho as the comparison bar is silly. Players develop differently.
You have some valid points, and it's not all black and white. A player can be a bad fit one place and fly another, and every player develops deferently, I agree. I just think you value these two more than I do, and that's fine. I don't see the tier 1 talents in them, but maybe a tier or two below below that. They still might become great players, but that is high oddsers as I see it.

Eventually both Diallo and Pellistri will be sold and we’ll recover the transfer fees. Antony will tussle it out with Omari Forson who’s amazing and very strong (like Saka) in the academy.

Diallo is technically high level but i don’t think he’ll ever be strong enough for a team like United. Bruno for instance has a lot of power and stamina in that no 10 role

For transparency, I like them both and value Pellistri higher. When Amad was with the team under Ole and people were screaming for him to be played, I was really against it as I thought the coaches and manager knew better, and was assuming he wasn't showing enough in training to command even bench appearances.

Pellistri had to adjust to living in Europe so it made a lot of sense to send him to Spain where the language barrier won't be a further hurdle to overcome. I think Alaves wasn't the best choice, especially the second time, but it is what it is.

Now, I hope all of our young talents (Garnacho, Pellistri, Amad, Mejbri, Shoretire, Mainoo, Fernandez, Laird) have fantastic careers but I'm more than sceptical for most of them.
If I were to bet, I'd put my money on Mejbri, Garnacho and Pellistri to have at least 3+ more seasons at Manchester United. Let's see.
