Gaming Destiny | Rise of Iron launch

Yeah, I've been mainly working on leveling up my Red Death so only experienced it when switching to fusion rifle/rocket launcher.

Those hobgoblins snipers are a bitch. Just one shot you every time.

If you still need to do them, I haven't done any this week yet. Only just got back home, so haven't done anything this week. Got a massive patch to download first it seems now

Iron banner is on next week and it looks like helmets will be part of the line up, also getting the thorn is too much work with anyone else but the warlock, those 500 kills came easy enough with him.
 
Not sure if you guys are aware or not, but Chrome has an extension 'Destiny Item Management' that is really handy. Allows you to transfer items straight between characters, and also create weapon load outs and such that can instantly be equipped. Works better than the default app

Yeah I've got Tower Ghost for Firefox which is the same/a very similar kind of thing. It's fantastic. I just keep one of each weapon as there's little point in having multiple ones with the vault limitations and can just switch over no problem.

No worries, had today off and couldn't be bothered unpacking so did them all through LFG. Did VOG as well and finally got my first vex.

The fact that our upgrade progress for exotics and such isn't going to be reset has given me some motivation to level up some my other exotics that I've never used before, so actually felt like playing.

Congrats :D

Liking that any legendary weapon can be upgraded. The VoG weapons still stand head and shoulders above most of the rest IMO, apart from Hunger of Crota for CE.
 
Yeh, it is a great move from bungie. Though annoyingly I dismantled my found verdict. It was before the patch that made shotguns actually useful, and when I thought all the 300 weapons would be useless going forward. Did the same with all my old VOG armour as well. Ah well, got plenty of other bits and pieces anyway and the old raid primaries are really the main ones that will be most useful to upgrade.
 
Ah good old Iron Banner. Think I'll work on getting my Titan to rank 2 today, then my Hunter to rank 2 tomorrow then my Warlock to rank 2 the day after that. Then I'll go back to my Titan and work on getting that to rank 4 when the tempered buff bonus is a lot better and then do the same for the other characters.

It would be more fun if they took away the radar like in inferno.
 
Can anyone here say what percentage of the full game is in the beta/trial? I've been playing it recently on the trial mode and it's decent so far but I don't want to buy it if its true about the lack of content etc.

The trial has 6 story missions on earth and 1 strike called 'devils lair'.

Depends what kind of gif it is. If its a reaction one or whatever they tend to be frowned upon as they were overused in the football forums. Not sure on suitability in EF but you're less likely to be warned for it, and if you are I'll remove it and say it was my bad.

I'm not sure what you mean by reaction? The gif I was going to post in response to paid mods was http://gifs.gifbin.com/032013/1364303142_reaction_to_price.gif , Either way I don't really mind so if gifs are frowned upon I won't be posting them

It says reaction in the URL there :p reaction as in a gif of someone reacting to something, so say if they see something scary they jump or whatever. Some of the staff frown on them as they don't think they add much to discussion

Level cap in game is currently 32 (will be 34 from May 19th) and weapons damage cap is 331 but will be 365 from May 19th.

That's the PvE side of things. Can't really speak much on PvP as that isn't really my thing but there's an event called Iron Banner which comes around once or twice a month maybe for a week and you can level up to get special weapons and armour and stuff. There's something called a Nightfall/Weekly Heroic each week which is essentially one of the strikes above (except for the PS exclusives) with modifiers on. Complete the Nightfall for a chance at getting exotic weapons and stuff.

No problem. I think Destiny is involved in a sale now anyway so might be around £25 to upgrade which I think'd be worth it. Really is up to you, if you like it so far then may as well upgrade
 
Finally, after four months I've done the PvP part of the Bad Juju bounty (not that I was terrible at it, just that I hardly play PvP on my hunter apart from when IB is around).

I was thinking of getting another thorn with my warlock during this as well and have you noticed there is a load of thorns around as well.
 
Nothing pisses me off more than playing IB, winning a game and not getting the rank points for it. I just lost a game followed by winning one, and as a result I've lost the medallion from the game I lost and gained no rank points at all when I would have got around 100 otherwise. What a waste of 20 mins.

yep, love me some thorn. forgot how slow ib ranking is. haven't got any time sunday or monday but without the decent buff it's barely worth the time. must have played three and a half hours this evening to get to rank 2 and a half.
 
The worst thing about control is the idiots who want to control all the sectors, when you have the main 2 sectors under control and end up losing them because you are re-spawned to the worst possible areas.

Tonight I had the most frustrating thing happen (aside from not getting the rep thing). On Blind Watch, points B and C safely under control and 18k to 13k up... someone has the bright idea to cap A and we just narrowly lost the game. Otherwise we'd have cruised it. So annoying.

Yeah its a pain.

Tomorrow it'll be up to 25% (from 15% today) and on Friday it'll be 40% which should help things.

That nearly happened to me as well on that map, but in the asylum we had A and B until 2 bright sparks decide to keep on going from A to C.
 
I'm going to run some Iron Banner tonight, I think. Played a few games on Tuesday and Hawkmoon owns that shizzle! Thorn is really the only opposing weapon that I get frustrated with. Hawkmoon beats it in a head-to-head fight, but Thorn has the lasting damage thing, that gets your opponent a Post Mortem kill a lot of the time.

And yeah, it's massively annoying when you're holding the two main sectors and a numpty on your team goes for the other one and you get your spawn point flipped.
