I'm up for doing the first two parts of the raid but not the Crota fight, it's shit and I got the loot I want.
Finished Crota, though only got a second word of crota. Wanted the scout rifle.
Had a crazy good swordbearer. Downed Crota in two swords. Only two attacks each time as well.

Nice. It's weird how last week almost everyone found Crota difficult, yet this week it seemed a lot easier (apart from that group you were stuck with for ages

Good point. Last night for some reason we were struggling on the abyss and Ir Yut (usually they're both fairly easy to do). Fortunately one of the few people who stuck through it was a brilliant swordbearer and we had Crota done fairly easily.

A lot of the people I have played with this week are simply out of ammo, just like me.
They are waiting till tomorrow and the weekend to see if squid face sells any, it's putting most people of playing arm.
If you are any good with a hand cannon they can totally dominate. I believe The Last Word is considered to be the best pvp gun. You just need the unlock the unique perk and the increases stabilty tier 2 perk. Very fast rate of fire (can be full auto), very high stabilty and high damage. (3 headshots is kill or 4 bodyshots)
Thorn is great too with the damage over time perk but it fires a bit slow.

The whole fight depends on the swordbearer, the last two groups I was in downed Crota in the first go and the other in the second go, we didn't have issues with heavy ammo. Though tbh that guy was just awesome, he chased Crota half way the bridge and downed him once.
I went back to NM this week and I'm getting sword practice, but I don't think I'm gonna bother with HM again, just the first two sections.
I'll do HM until I get the Crux (only thing I need), then I'll do NM until I get HoC as I really need a decent rocket launcher.
Sad state of affairs when everyone is talking about how much they dislike Crota HM... A lot of things about this game are just lazy. Throw in a gatekeeper and remove the chalice, add in random detainment fields.

Done it on my 31 Titan with the same group, got the Scout rifle again.
Did you have your scout rifle equipped when Crota was downed? I made sure to have mine and didn't get any duplicates. Second attempt I got nothing of note and third attempt I got the handcannon
I had it in my inventory but didn't think to equip it.
Bungie don't care though, they never fix the big bugs and they come on hard on cheeses, which wouldn't happen if they test their raids before they release them. We beta tested CE for them before they they made HM available, which is pure BS. If they pull the same the shit with the next DLC then I'm out.
It doesn't matter, the "smart loot system" is horse shit. I got the fusion rifle 4 times, HoC 3 times and the Word 3 times so far. Finally got Blackhammer this week though, which is good. Still need the hunter helm though.
As for Crux, I don't care for it tbh, it looks like shit. Low impact and high RoF weapons all suck and to make worse Necrochasm takes up the exotic space, no thanks.
Warlock, bad juju and the black helm is a beautiful thing... nova bomb overkill. Must have been orbs everywhere...

I have an Atheon checkpoint and Gorgon HM checkpoint if you guys want to do those over the weekend.
Don't bother, having it equiped makes no difference at all. I've been using the hc in crota and got a second one when we beat him. Same for the fusion rifle on normal. Think I have three of them. Yet no blackhammer or Hunger.
I'm in the same boat. Never fixing bugs, yet trying to fix cheeses straight away. Plus HM crota shits me off. You pull a great swordbearer and you have no issues, but it is basically impossible if you don't have that. Standing there firing a rocket everynow and then hoping your swordbearer doesn't get killed isn't exactly the most fun after a while.
Once I get the scout rifle, I'll probably not do the hard mode again unless one of you guys needs an extra body. Then if the next DLC goes the same route as this one, in trying to just make us grind over and over again for the same stuff I won't be buying the DLC after that.

Ah wish I could get that, though doubt I'll get home in time to buy it. Really should start paying attention to him to see if he sells another one. Would be a handy little option to have against Crota.

Yeah. I love scout rifles in PvE, so hand cannons would likely be a good fit for me. I have just never really got into them. Mainly because I have never dropped a good one, I guess. I also dropped Suros Regime very early on in the game - my first exotic, iirc - so that was always my go-to weapon for PvP.

I've bought the mask of the third man upgrade so I can regen health from orbs. Other than than that I need to find a group that will take my 31 Titan through crota hard, then it's back to the VOG for me.

I've got two VoGs left to do and possibly the Crota abyss section (skipped it on one of my characters but I really need the shards/energy from it).

I haven't played for the last 2 or 3 weeks, so I have a couple of questions about the last updates. Firstly, does HM Crota work like HM VoG in terms of loot? I mean if you still get drops for both HM and NM when doing hard mode.
And secondly, was there an update regarding the Black Hammer? I know there was a bug with Hive Disruptor, but now it looks like it completely disappeared from the perk tree.

Not from what I've seen in the six times I've done it.
Just said that they were removing the perk until they sorted the issue.
