That strategy looks much better than the left side one. Just need a titan to go with the sword bearer and drop his bubble. Takes away so much of the risk on people getting killed. Though you do need a decent amount of rockets to make it work.

Yep. We're still on Crota and attempting it from the left. Just trying it by killing the boomers as fast as possible then the wizard and it can be done quite speedily... but for me I don't think it's as good as that method and we're still struggling a bit
Hopefully you guys can do it soon and get some good drops.
It's tough. We couldn't do it. I'll work on power leveling the arc pulse rifle I got though before we attempt the full thing in 9/10 hours or whenever if you're still up for it.
Just trying HM Crota reminds me why I want that damn Gjallarhorn so much.
And thanks @afrocentricity @Anustart89 ... Crota is just so damn tough. We got the basics right, just the boomers spawn too quickly/Crota shield issues which are stopping us.
It was fun until Crota, that last bit was like how Atheon used to feel. At least we know it gets easier... in time.
Yeah, when we get more of the raid primaries and level them up they should make things easier I think. Just that fecking wizard and the seemingly forever spawning boomers...

The good thing about it is, is he doesn't drop anything vital to progression unlike atheon with the helmet, we really only are playing for trophies this time.

Even all the primaries seem to drop before beating crota as well which is great. So I'm guessing the only prize for actually beating crota is the crux of crota for the pulse rifle. Which doesn't look all that flash anyway (I'm not a fan of any low impact, high fire rate weapon)
He drops the Word of Crota HC and the upgrade you need for Necrochasm. I don't care for neither, I just want the shader and Blackhammer. The Abyss Defiant would be nice, it has some good perks.
I still prefer VoG to CE tbh, I don't like how most of it is down to guy with the sword. Bungie took the lazy route to make it harder, they just threw more majors at us.

I'm not sure make, but that's what I have read. I don't care much for the HC, it doesn't seem that great, I want the scout rifle though.
I might not bother with the Crota bit this week, I'll do a fresh run two more times and if I get stuck at the final bit I'll just leave it.

I've been reading on the forums that it works out as being 10% more powerful than Fatebringer when its maxed out in this raid, with worse perks.
So dont kill yourself in terrible groups for hours on end trying to get it.
I will do thralls and bridge with my titan to farm shards and try and get a chest.
I dont need any more exotics, so it will only be for pride to actually try and beat it.
Definitely think the one in the video is the way to go. Go on the ledge outside the crystal room and Crota and the boomers shouldn't be able to hit us. We can try it tonight.
I've also been working on upgrading Truth. As rocket launchers go it's way down on the list but hey, it's got tracking if needed. Got the tracking perk unlocked.

I'm with you on this, no point in wasting time. I got all the gear and enough shards, just need a hunter helm and I'm set. I just wanna beat it so I can say I did it. I'm sure the raid will become easier over time. I remember people struggling with Atheon, now it's easy.

Seriously, the bridge is the easiest part, yet they were all like headless chickens. From randomly leaving the Totum's, fighting over the sword once it was dropped, some of them didn't even want to pick the sword up, some of them that did wanted to kill some adds on our side of the bridge before crossing it then losing the sword.
I gave up and turned it off - I'll never get to level 32 with these hopeless fools

Pulse rifle is good. About half a circle away from unlocking the hive major perk. Guessing without it on CE HM it'll not be much good but I'll try.

Just dont forget- dont kill the witches, you will set the totems off.
you also only have a couple of minutes to.kill the ogres when they spawn, so you need at least a couple of warlocks if you are going to do it that way.

Same. Having experienced Crota, I very much doubt we'd be able to do that bit with this group. No point in wasting a lot of time so if his obsession with Crota only continues we'll give it two or three goes then leave.
