Is there something particular besides closing the application when he takes a knee? Me and @Dargonk did it earlier this week, but it wouldn't work when we tried it again. We figured we must have just been lucky with timing or something first time round.

He's gone offline on both the caf and Destiny after posting that, the little tease.

Yay you got a legendary weapon engram :D just hope it doesn't turn into energy
You and @Brocky In Black are legends! Thanks for the help. How come I'm so squishy - is it coz I am lower level than you guys or coz I'm a hunter?

Brocky runs round like a tank - he's 1 hard mother fecker. Loved it when he rejoined and 1 shot later he took down the witch :)

The engram turned out to be a scout rifle!!! Tempted to ditch my exotic handgun (hawkmoon) and switch to my exotic rocket launcher instead (gjallarhorn)

I much prefer scout rifles...

Both. More to do with the being two levels under than being a hunter.

Congrats, Gjallarhorn is now top of my most wanted list, followed by Hunger of Crota then Fatebringer.

Yeah, I also know exactly when to disconnect on Crota cheese. Just done it twice here.

Switching mats and stuff from character to character via the vault on the tower is such a fcuking chore...

Going to do the cheese again, have two spots. Anyone need it? I don't need it but I'm helping some guys out.

The player who is going to disconnect has to enter the instance ON HIS OWN.

Then other players join him AFTER he is in the level.

Then he sits in his setting screen waiting for the go to disconnect.

And then you kill Crota in one sword.

Let me get back in game with my other warlock

Another tip is to wait until Crota's on the right, then you don't have to worry about left hand boomers, plus you can lure the Swordbearer closer to Crota, increasing the chances to get him in one sword.

Interesting. That definitely wasn't the case when we did it. However, I'm guessing it has to be the host and if you start together that isn't necessarily the fireteam leader, whereas it should be if a player starts the game alone.

So conflicting... cheers though, sounds good
I take it you didn't get the Anchorman reference then. If done right, works every time. Once, we actually glitched it and the Oversoul didn't come out, so we got to the enrage timer waiting for the disconnect guy and kept dying to Ogres and stuff, but completed it in the end.
