You mean you got to Crota? or you got the checkpoint? As I only got the checkpoint from someone... didn't actually 'get to' him. The guy explained what to do though so I'm not overly concerned about having a go at it...

Well technically I suppose I got the checkpoint. On all three characters did the first two bits and skipped the third as the other people I were with said it was pointless as there was no loot so they got the Crota one and shared it.

Finally beat Crota, was much easier this time. We had two 30's and four 31's. We had him beat three times but we got disconnected once, the sword bearer didn't come out once but we downed him at the end. I got the fusion rifle, I was really hoping for the sniper though.
Did you all stay in the room at the bottom?
Not this time, but I did that with different group and we came close though I had to leave. This time we stayed on the left, had one guy working on the knights and we moved to the room at the bottom when the ogres came out.

Yeah going to the left is always the way I have done it, somebody with ice breaker can kill the "Boomers" quite easily while the rest damage the sword bearer, Once the sword is dropped everybody starts damaging Crota and then as he is at 25% the sword man moves in for 3 hits. Sword man jumps back down and you damage crota again, and then sword goes back for 3 more hits. Rinse and repeat this 3 times and it's done.
As long as everybody does there jobs smoothly and in time, its really quite easy.

How do you solo the chest? Just so I'm aware. I haven't managed to even attempt the Crota raid yet, been too busy upgrading etc, so I may give this a quick go later.
When you start at the bottom and have the first lamp ahead of you, go to the left instead. Take a right when the paved road turns, then take a left when it turns again. Straight ahead of you is a door where the chest might spawn. If it does, there'll be an orange light above the door. If it's not there, just get killed by the thralls. Rinse, repeat until it's there. Might take over ten tries, but it'll be there for sure.
4th Horseman definitely beats strange coins! Though I very rarely use shotguns, so it'll probably just sit in my vault looking pretty.
