We don't really need to open the gates if we're trying to push him off the side
Like Tekkers said, you don't bother with gates. The three who teleport stay on other side and wait.
I'll try to lure him by myself, when the guys get teleported @Sampy93 and @NinjaFletch come join me with Atheon and throw nova bombs at him and solar grenades in front of him and hopefully he should fall off the side.

Yeah, thats me. By that time we'd definitely got the hang of it, not quite sure how we didnt manage it the time before. He was literally right on the ledge when he stopped but then started walking down the steps rather than backwards.
