Dean Henderson | On loan at Forest | gives public outburst against United

It is understood discussions have been held over a season-long loan but a permanent transfer has not been ruled out.

Please be a permanent deal. I don't see any point whatsoever in loaning him out.

Hope it’s permanent with 40m. We need the cash for summer pursuits.

United " we want 40 million for Henderson"
Newcastle "here's 5 million and a pack of crisps (of your choice)"
United "Done ! get the feck in"

You'd have to assume they have a goalkeeper lined up to come in then.

He has already proven his quality in the premier league at Sheffield United so what do Newcastle need to loan him for, either buy him or get lost.

You'd suspect if it's a loan it's because we don't want to sell and we're holding on to the feint chance he's going to be our long term #1 and he just needs more "experience".

I hope we sell.

Hope it is Permanent or Loan with a Permanent Obligation. I don't see the point in drawing this out for another season.

Should we really be that interested in a loan deal? I don't think he has the level to be the long-term keeper with us, so why not just insist on selling him outright. We could certainly use the transfer fee for other improvements.

Plus a loan deal will probably result in them realising that he’s no better than Dubravka and sending him back next summer.

Might be United stipulating loan only.

That could possibly be the case yes, in which case I disagree with United's thinking. We need the money to reinvest in other positions. Henderson is decent on the ball but I am sure ETH will be looking for someone who is better in that department, so realistically he's never going to be the number 1 here.

In an ideal World, where we didn't need to replace so many out of contract players, I think Ten Hag would replace De Gea for a ball playing GK who suits his Total Football.

So maybe if Henderson leaves for £25m or more, he'll get someone in to genuinely challenge De Gea's place.

What’s the story with DDG’s potential new deal. I imagine that’ll decide what way this transfer goes.
Yeah, this all but confirms De Gea getting a new deal

I don't see how he doesn't bring a goalkeeper in if Henderson is moved on. Playing the way Ten Hag demands his teams play insists upon having 11 footballers on the pitch, we don't have that currently. We can't really even begin to play his style of football with De Gea given how deep he plays and while that aspect can be coached it would be against he instincts so I don't see it being successful. I'm not against moving Henderson on if we are going to replace him, and I've obviously gone into depth in other threads about how simple it would be to replace De Gea and see considerable improvements, but to move him on and bring someone like Johnstone in purely as a back-up would be completely insane.

Stop with these stupid loan deals. Newcastle have plenty of cash. We need money to generate a bigger transfer budget and Henderson is one of few we can get anything for.

Loan with obligation to buy is the only way it makes sense otherwise we haven't learned anything from Lingard's deal.

We are absolutely terrible at selling players.

It’s quite embarrassing really, for a club which many see, as the biggest in the world.

Loan deal is ridiculous, how are we this bad at transfer business? Sheffield bought Ramsdale for £19m because we wouldn’t sell them Henderson who we then benched for the next two seasons. Ramsdale went for £30m to Arsenal last year, his reputation was not any higher than Henderson at the time.

We could sell him for £20m easily now but let’s loan him to a team that with a bit of luck will be competing with us for EL spot next season.

They can have him permanently or for a loan I don't care, but we should be pushing for that £40million fee. He's a young English keeper playing for whats likely to be a domestic rival going forward. If they wanted £50million for Longstaff, they can certainly cough up 40million the sportswashing cnuts.

May as well go all in for Pope as bringing in Johnstone in any capacity. Don't see any point in bringing in a manager who plays a possession based game only to load the squad with keepers who aren't very good with the ball at their feet.

I'll be very surprised if DDG can step up and improve his overall positioning behind the defensive line and also become more willing to receive the ball and be more constructive with the ball at his feet.

So everyone thinks Henderson is shit yet think he's worth 40m?
Personally I would have kept him and started him next season.

Worrying that we are left with a keeper who's kicking is a major problem, would have expected Ten Hag to identify and fix this problem immediately, like when Guardiola banished Harte.

A loan deal would indicate that nothing have changed with United. It makes absolutely no sense at all, and United of old have endless of those deals in their pocket.

If other teams are sniffing around Sanchez I’d make a move pronto for him and make Henderson a permanent out.

Either play him or sell him. Loaning him out won't solve anything. I don't think he's the answer, but I don't think De Gea is either. The goalkeeping situation is just yet another conundrum.

Please be permanent. Dont need him next season and we can use the money somewhere else

The goalkeeping conondrum is one I feel would have to be put on hold while we prioritise other pressing positions this summer. I'm sure Ten Hag will make it priority in future windows.

For the time being I'd keep De Gea and just sell Henderson. He's not good enough to replace De Gea long term, and frankly if the rumours about him being one of the dressing room leakers is true, I want him gone from the club.

40mill is decent for henderson, be happy with the deal if we were planning in spending the money recouped in a deal for an new no1 goalkeeper otherwise, if we are planning on another season of David 'must never be more that 1m away from goaline' de gea being our number one we are going to have big problems trying to play ETH's style of football.

I agree. There is just too much to do in one window. I assume that the keeper and fullback positions will be addressed next year. I'd be happy enough with selling Henderson. My only thought would be whether to have a 'buy back' option.

Why would we loan a player to a club owned by oil billionaires? We need to raise funds. We’ll probably be competing with them for top 4 - 30m or nothing, you cheap bastards. In fact, let’s call it 40 just for the bare arsed cheek.

Would be great to sell him and add 40M to the transferbudget!

A loan would be useless.
