Lost his light sabre
So even he managed join the silly mistakes club. Great...
Today was the perfect game to give De Gea a day off
I was banging on in the summer about selling him to Everton or someone of that ilk for £25-30m or so with a generous buy-back or sell-on clause.I still don't really understand the bumper contract you gave him or why you're rotating them. I know Ancelotti likes rotating keepers too but I feel like it's a position where consistency is absolutely key. Should have kept him out on loan at a better club.
Such an overreaction in here
The worst. The only similarity to each other is that they all play in the same league.Dreadful comparisons
Chicken or egg. I've not watched it back but all Maguire has to do is turn out and pass the ball under no pressure. I just remember thinking why is the skipper playing the ball back to the keeper there. Not absolving him but christ this defence is shit.Henderson has the right angle and view of the entire situation, all he has to do is boot the ball away
Calm down. It’s not like our beloved #1 hasn’t given away plenty of easy goals during the last couple of seasons. One similar Calvert-Lewin goal springs to mind.
I actually hate that this probably means that we will see none of him for the rest of the PL season. He needs game time and confidence. Playing one game out of 10 isn’t probably gonna do that.
Romero is better than both though.
I'm bamboozled at this thread. How are people saying we should have sold him?
Shocker. But christ your captain playing a 6 yard ball back to you 6 yards out from inside the box when there are opposition players around. Awful stuff.
I don't think diddly dallied is a word.

Yeah! feck him, he's shit! Sell!Get out, the guy’s a professional football ffs.
You can’t deal with that, you can’t stake a claim at a top club, it’s that simple.

I know everyone will be out for his head, afterall many were desperate to see him make a mistake, but to be fair, Maguire put him in trouble with that pass. He was always going to have to face a duel if he needed a touch.
Glad his mistake wasn't a goalkeeping error though, but not suprising to see many use that situation to conclude that he's not ready, as if he is the first goalkeeper to be ever charged down in the Premier League.
Hope he has a better game next time.
Yeah! feck him, he's shit! Sell!
Potentially a personality thing. Henderson is said to think highly of himself and I don't think he's the type to get upset at comments like that whereas perhaps De Gea might.Pretty out of character from ole? What did he say after ddg made the mistake and kicked the ball at the opposition striker?
Henderson wasn't glued to his line at all, ridiculous to compare him to DDG for that.
Twice. Once from a dead ball situation. I mean, I might be old school but he's walking over to welly the thing up field and he gets waved off by Lindelof to pass it to him from the edge of the area. Again not absolving him at all, he takes the blame but the whole thing is shit defending as a whole and I would be shaking like a dog shitting peanuts having to play behind Lindelof and Maguire if it was me. You never have any clue what they're going to do including passing it around in the box. One of them just croc the fecker up field.Ehm, no.
There's nothing wrong with the ball being played to Henderson there. Henderson misreads the situation, has a poor first touch and just can't boot it away. Shit happens, doesn't define him as a keeper, but there's no way whatsoever that Maguire is at fault for that feck up.
I'm more concerned about what he's doing on crosses.
Sheffield going straight at him on the first corner was a bit weird considering they know him so well. Probably thought he could be pressured and forced into a mistake.
Shocking error, bad game, but our forwards and that save at the end pulled him out. Early days obviously, but a clear sign we can't just move De Gea and that is our goalkeeping solved. Which was always absurd thinking.
