He's made like ~5 extremely poor passes straight to the opposition in this half alone. 2 of them led to big chances.Love how a De Gea thread gets bumped the moment he makes a poor pass

I recognise that. But in the brief time we’ve looked like a football team in the last decade or so, it’s stood out as a massive source of pressure amongst looking fairly comfortable defensively. This has been an age old problem.
I genuinely can't tell if this is a serious post. Although the fact you are an Ajax fan, I'd assume you were joking.Disgraceful thread, this guy is a legend! Goalkeeping is about stopping goals. Fantastic shot stopper.

It truly is. Just one of his many charms that has left me frustrated for years. Yet according to his supporters, we only want him sold due to his inability on the ball.I recognise that. Out of all supporters i would have expected fans of Ajax to understand how important a GK is to the way a team wants to play.Disgraceful thread, this guy is a legend! Goalkeeping is about stopping goals. Fantastic shot stopper.
Stop trying to hide your goalkeeper from us.Disgraceful thread, this guy is a legend! Goalkeeping is about stopping goals. Fantastic shot stopper.
This means I succeeded.I genuinely can't tell if this is a serious post. Although the fact you are an Ajax fan, I'd assume you were joking.
The timing of this argument isn't great after conceding seven goals from eight shots in literally his last game.Disgraceful thread, this guy is a legend! Goalkeeping is about stopping goals. Fantastic shot stopper.
His lack of ability on the ball is being shown up more and more now because of the way ETH wants us to play out from the back.
He's still a great shot stopper but he's not the right man for this new direction we are going in.
Such a shame because he's been a tremendous player for us over the years.
He isn't though anymore. He's been decidedly average as a shot stopper for a bit now, and every metric backs this up as well.
Think you're being harsh. He's made some incredible saves this season even in the last month. Some he had no right getting to.
Rest of his game isn't good enough though. Becoming a big issue.
His passing is out of place in the modern game. Top teams who want to dominate cannot have a keeper who keeps lumping it to nobody.Love how a De Gea thread gets bumped the moment he makes a poor pass

Superb post, who would you bring in?

I doubt your pride as a Manchester United fan if you believe he is a legend.
David Raya may appease some of our fanbase who don't want to see David de Gea moved on, as at least his name sounds like our current keeper
All joking aside the reported £35m to £40m transfer fee for him (one year left on his contract at the end of the season) to bring him here from Brentford, means that we will be getting a fantastic goalkeeper for a very reasonable price.
His Premier League experience (knows the league), and fantastic all-round goalkeeping ability (including shot-stopping, claiming crosses, and distribution), could mean that he arrives with few teething problems, and seamlessly transitions into the team and style of play that Erik ten Hag wants.
I thought his reported price tag was £15-20mDavid Raya may appease some of our fanbase who don't want to see David de Gea moved on, as at least his name sounds like our current keeper

No Club is paying 35-40 million for Raya, it wouldn't even be reasonable price had he been on longer contract with Brentford let alone with just year left .
It's not his decision to make nobody is paying £40m for player with year left on his contract. The price quoted was from this article, and was a figure given from his manager Thomas Frank (£40m)
