DDG - it needs to be said

Three seasons of continuous decline with him. Now i can't stand the sight of him anymore. Absolutely has to be dropped after this.

Maybe the reaction tonight is an overreaction.

But DDG is costing us consistently now and he's only going to get worse. It's time to move on, replace him this summer.

Last time Hendo played in a game that mattered he looked very suspect so those saying he’s better than DDG have a very short memory.

Dave cost us tonight, no denying it but let’s not rewrite history.

Because he gets a game here and there. Stick him in goal for 10 games straight and see how he does. De Gea is not the answer anyway

Needs gone. He has no confidence in coming out off his line and we have no confidence in him.

1st goal was a joke from him. I've seen goalkeepers come out quicker and more aggressively on chances like their third goal.

He's stayed past his welcome for me. His performances are reminding me of Pepe Reina. Brilliant shot stopper, but always with a mistake in him.

This is the problem with the sort of rebuilds we always seem to attempt: by the time we plug one hole, another couple starts leaking. We all want a right-winger and a centre-forward and preferably an imposing central midfielder - but now we'll also need to think about a centre-back and a first choice goalkeeper because ours has become a liability.

If you are a teammate right now you should be absolutely leathering into him for being a complete pussy . Being bad is one thing but he just doesn't want it enough at all

His agility has gone, and with it what made him a top class GK.

He has cost us again tonight, and it's happened too often now. We have nothing to lose from starting Henderson.

I don’t think the analysis is right on it. Redknapp is saying he should have cleared the attacker out, but he wasn’t even in a position to do it. Same shit, slow off his line.

How? Hes on a massive contract and a downward slope, who would have him?

He’s a liability, people will blame the defenders in front of him but he doesn’t talk, organise or ever move off his line to command his area. He’s still capable of good performances and great saves but he’s just not what we need. I firmly believe we would be better off with Henderson as he’s a talker. Long term we might need a more commanding option than both though. De Gea is 90% of the reason our record is so poor at conceding from set pieces.

Even if we had won today, I wouldn't have thought we had much real chance of winning the league (despite our position) as I think City are better than us across the board. De Gea certainly isn't the difference in that regard.

And because I don't think De Gea is performing poory enough to cost us CL places, I'm feeling quite sanguine about our goalkeeper issues. I think we'll finish in what I would consider a good position based on my expectations.

If we want to really stand a change of winning the league next year though, we need better. And it's concerning that we're tied to our two current goalkeepers through large contracts because, all things being equal, I would want us to be looking beyond Henderson and De Gea for the solution.

Also, it sucks when a player I have a great deal of affection towards costs us. But the truth is that when I came back to the TV and saw the score was 2-2, my first thought was "De Gea". That's telling, even if there were plenty of others to blame today too.

Zero distribution skills , no bravery and stays on his line a lot.

I’ll get over not seeing his saves with his legs / body

Get Henderson in

The hot takes on De Gea never cease to amaze me. You guys are overreacting ninnies saying he's done when he's barely put a foot wrong this season (except today obvz).
How is it overreacting? It's now been two and a half seasons since he's actually been good.

This season has been an improvement over his last two, but he's still nowhere near where he was at his best and is, at best, mid-level in the league.

Sadly now he’s more likely to cost us 12 points a season rather than win us 12 points a season

De Gea might not be as good as he was 3-4 years ago BUT he was fundamentally not at fault today. Having such a shaky pair of CBs affects any GK. He just becomes anxious with the chuckle brothers v2.0 ahead of him.

As for Henderson, we saw how good he was when he fecked up that goal against Sheffield earlier in the season. It's our defense as a whole that's the problem.
HE was very much at fault today, rooted to his line AGAIN, he is a total coward

Closing in on as many points as he cost us last season. Which was probably more than any other keeper in the top half of the table.

EDIT: Apart from Kepa.

Our defense is already the shittiest in the top half of the table.

If you are a teammate right now you should be absolutely leathering into him for being a complete pussy . Being bad is one thing but he just doesn't want it enough at all
But if you are Maguire, you will get punched on the face, one pussy to another.

I don't think anyone is saying Henderson is amazing, and should be a nailed on starter.

We have one suspect GK in decline, and one unproven goalie who will surely only get better.

It's not really rewriting history, I just think most people see that there's no risk in letting Henderson start games and maybe have a mistake here and there, because our overpaid no. 1 who looks over the hill at this level is doing it anyway.

He’s been glued to his line for 10 years, with a slow CB pairing like we have it’s a recipe for disaster.

He’s always going to be a top class shot stopper and if we moved him on you will get week in week out calls that we should never have sold him when he’s pulling off worldies for someone else. But I wouldn’t be adverse to a change now, it’s always a risk changing the GK but it’s probably time to take a long hard look at the whole back line and he could be a casualty.

He used to be the best keeper in the world. Now not even in the top 10. Just criminal that he earns over 300,000 pounds a week.
He was never the best keeper in the world, best shot stopper yes, but always had no command of his box, been rooted to his line and had shoddy distribution

I hate putting the blame on individuals as football is a team sport. Tonight was comfortable, we played really well, Everton didn’t pose any threat. We didn’t win because of his weak goal keeping, especially in the first instance.

If you are a teammate right now you should be absolutely leathering into him for being a complete pussy . Being bad is one thing but he just doesn't want it enough at all
Yup. Completely pussied out of that at the end knowing full well it's a goal unless he gets hurt. So he didn't want to get hurt and chose to throw the game. He hasn't been too bad this season, but this alone is disgusting and just doesn't show enough commitment. If you want to he successful, you put your body on the line. Anyone who doesn't want to give everything to get the result has no business being in the starting 11. It's why Martial is on the bench now, why Pogba was on the bench for months and why it's De Geas turn.

I’m not about to argue our defenders of the past few years have been world beaters but there is a constant throughout these years of defensive vulnerability. It’s the shot stopper glued to the comfort of his line. At this stage De Gea is a Spanish Shay Given but on a world record salary.

Consistently? How many this season he fecked up?

There’s seasons of data that illustrate that De Gea is a bang average shot stopper now. He’s got nothing to offer. We could be here in five years’ time and people would still be harking back to the past. That De Gea is long, long gone.

Henderson may not be good enough, agreed. But we know for a fact DdG is not good enough anymore. At least give Henderson a run to find out if he is good enough.

He literally has no balls. He his scared shitless from any type of physical contact

At this point, it really isn't over reacting to say he's been poor. It's been going on for 3 years now.

Give Henderson a run of games. See where that takes us.
