I meant nobody expected Croatia or England to get to the semi in 2018. Considering the quality of England entering this tournament you woudn't have expected them to get to the semi or final this year either but nobody looks that good. Even teams that have played well (like France/England) have looked pretty shaky at the back!

To be fair the french backline was a first. They did better than expected.
