Day 2: Wales vs Switzerland | Denmark vs Finland | Belgium vs Russia

Brought back some bad memories of how my cousin Alim died. We played in the same 11 a side Sunday League team and after a headed clearance he just doubled over with his hands on his knees. Sadly he collapsed and never woke up. Nobody knew what to do...at the time we thought it was a head injury. It was horrific. He was only 22.

It turned out to be an arrhythmia caused by undiagnosed hypertophic cardiomyopathy - thickening of his heart. Apparently it's a lot more common in black people and can be passed down through families...another couple of reasons, as if any more were needed, that it sticks with me.

It was a decade ago with Alim and I still can't watch the Miklos Feher video because of how absolutely identical it was.

Delighted to hear good news on Eriksen.

Sorry to hear that mate, all this must have been incredibly confronting for you.

I certainly hope for the best for him, but how is rescheduling the game going to help him in anyway?

Not gonna quote every single post of yours on this matter but from comparing bone fracture to someone looking dead on the pitch in need of CPR, to not understanding why his teammates wouldnt be in the state to continue the game ( check their reaction and faces ), to carring more about game being stopped/ how those organizing whole thing will deal with it, will tell you this much, go feck yourself you utter soulless cnut.

@mods i will gladly infractions, hell you can perma me, dont really give a feck.

Don't think he understands how massively that can affect someone.

In university, I had the terrible experience of having a friend of mine collapse on the field, everyone froze and didn't know what to do, I tried my best to do CPR, but it took AGES for any proper medical personnel to get there, so I just kept doing CPR with another friend, until the medics came but sadly, what we didn't know at the time, was that it was too late, he didn't make it. :( Seeing this tonight, just unearthed all that emotion and experience.

That was one of the worst experiences in my life, and to this day there is a certain smell and images that triggers the memory of that day and giving him CPR that I can never forget.
I couldn't go back to the pitch for the rest of that year and had to have extensive counselling before I could even step on it and play football again.

Jaysus that sounds awful. Sorry you had to go through that.

So apparently Finland have to travel to Russia tomorrow for the next game so it's a bit of a complex situation according to the commentators I'm listening to.

Was it really necessary to organize the tournament in different countries?

It's beautiful to hear the Finns chanting Christian and the Danes answering with Eriksson

Christian Eriksen is awake and his condition remains stable. He remains hospitalized at Rigshospitalet for further examinations. The match against Finland will be played tonight. This happens after the players have been confirmed that Christian is okay. The match resumes at 20.30.

The Danish FA had someone trained in CPR. They saved his life. Perhaps the right people weren’t brought in at the right time but describing that as piss poor is clearly misguided.

We don´t even have enough information to make any judgement calls regarding first response here. We don´t even know if Eriksens breathing gave out immeadiately and CPR was directly needed. All we know is that CPR, a Defi and Oxygen was used and the man is thankfully stable. Let´s just be grateful for that instead of discussing matters that could very well come off as ignorant and honestly pretty tasteless.

Pre-covid... not really. During covid? Absolutely not.

I've nothing but good wishes for Eriksen.

I don't see how I think abandoning the game serves no great purpose is so outrageous.
Honestly, I don't know you from a bar of soap, but at least consider how your posts could be considered callous and inappropriate. In the end the game will likely be scheduled for another day, and the tournament will continue, but you coming and saying the players should have just played on like when players break their legs etc, makes no sense whatsoever, and I'm sorry but if you can't see that, I don't know how to word it in any way that could help you understand it.

It is going to be played

If decision was the players decision, fine. If uefa forced it it’s a disgrace

It was an idiotic idea before covid existed, its been made to look even more moronic with every passing day.
