Day 2: Wales vs Switzerland | Denmark vs Finland | Belgium vs Russia

stadium announcer asks the crowd to be in their seats so the match is not cancelled, at least not yet.

It's great to see him conscious! Hope he gets better soon.

Where are you watching? I'm watching SportTV and they have been impeccable. Both the commentators and the directors, I don't know if they control the broadcast, but as soon as CPR was shown, they basically stopped trying to show it. A couple general shots of the players around him, then they showed 2 quick shots of his sister, and that was it.

Right now they are just showing the stadium.

TVI, they had a small commercial break and then just repeated him falling and the close up of his face on loop for 30 seconds or so. I had to turn it off.

Danish broadcaster has been perfect and respectful. First, they zoomed in to see the injured player. When they discovered the seriousness, they switched to a camera from a helicopter, just showing the stadium and the surrounding area. Danish commentators THINK that they saw Eriksen move.

This is incredible news. The 1st responders and even the ref who acted instantly deserve never ending praise if this turns out positive

Anyone elses stomach just about returning to normal?
Good timing; I'm just starting to calm down. What a terrible scene that was. Honestly, I never thought I'd see something like this live, but man, that's such a scary sight.

the cpr was quick, I think (hope, pray) it worked
Absolutely, that immediate professional CPR can be hugely vital for his brain.

You think? I thought they were really slow to act. Left him in the recovery position and no one seemed to clock on he wasn't conscious or breathing. Wasn't impressed at all.

i'm really surprised they didn't have a mobile defibrillator machine on hand as the poor guy had to do manual chest compressions

They did use a defib and you have to do compressions along side it. It's not one or the other. But they did use one.

I honestly think he’s dead, hope I’m wrong! It didn’t look good. Why is there no mobile heart equipment considering after everything that’s happened in the past??
Don’t know how the tournament continues if he dies!

The Twitter picture looks like he's with it but I agree it didn't look good at all.

Defibrillator does not have anything to do with compressions. You need to do compressions in between the shocks. The shocks are given based off the rhythm noted. I am 100% sure they have automatic defibrillators.

Yeah all defibs are automated. He was definitely shocked a few times so his heart had 100% stopped. It won't shock you otherwise.

Gah, I thought they were using a defibrillator. That's fecked they didn't have one.

They did have one and used it.

This.

Oh and feck UEFA that money grabbing whores pushing through this tournament after a congested season like that

Big big questions need to be asked as to whether it was justifiable to play this stupid tournament after a stressful season like that

Of course it was justified. We all want more football.

It was pretty clear from the players and referees reaction this was pretty fecking serious instantly.

But nobody knew the seriousness of the situation at that moment. Anyway, hope he recovers.

I was as terrified as anyone by what was going on but the calls here to end the tournament were really hysterical and a bit over the top, weren’t they?

Danish pundit on Dutch TV also saying that there is footage of Eriksen lifting his arm while being taken off. God I hope that's true.

Its all relative. I was thinking in terms of unwitnessed cardiac arrests

Not sure how this can go on, even if Eriksen is as well as can be this would have taken a huge psychological toll on the players.

At the game. Hope he will be ok.
I'm blown away most of you are still at the stadium with the game suspended. I guess there's a chance it resumes too...
TVI, they had a small commercial break and then just repeated him falling and the close up of his face on loop for 30 seconds or so. I had to turn it off.

I'm sorry for the wording, but feck off TVI. You are scum and the only thing that matters is money. Sport TV is a greedy business but at least they showed some freaking compassion.

I'm out of posts for today, so that's it for me today. Looks like he's fine. That's all that truly matters.

Pictures doing the rounds showing him sitting up on the stretcher!

Anyone elses stomach just about returning to normal?

No chance. I'm watching the game with my mum and she has tears in her eyes. My knees are still weak. I think I'll need a day or two to recover from seeing all this.
