Day 19: Morocco vs Portugal | England vs France (QF 3&4)

Well England weirdly too, that's the feeling I got at least. It's a group that has been together for a very long time and only narrowly missed a trophy. They're not trailing France that much in terms of tournament experience, except well actually winning one. They're also gaining confidence with each game won and I'm fairly certain that their mindset is "we can actually do this" at the moment. The stars are aligned and it's their best chance to win the WC since 1966.

Griezmann has been France's unsung hero this whole WC. However they're still missing key players in the midfield and defense and have a problem defending set-pieces. A formidable team and collective which would have steam rolled in this tournament should they have been at full strength, but as it is now they're more reliant on Mbappé's magic than in the previous tournaments. Definite favourites in this game but I really can't say who's going to come out on top.

Fine margins.
Going to be a fascinating game, buzzing for it. Few beers have helped build the excitement.

Best of luck to you guys.

So fecking nervous. Hope the boys go out there and put on a good performance. Hopefully it's enough, but given France's quality it might not be.

There is no chance we go at them. We do that, we lose easily. We need to be smart about it.

What issue did the Portugal players have with the ref? Seemed like the ref called a good game to me

This is England's moment for me. Morocco will be hoping for penalties and they will cause a huge problem for both, especially if they can get their players back from injury. England 2-1 in ET for me, with Shaw the best player on the pitch but not given Man of the Match.

Edit: Marcus to come on and be very involved in the winning goal against the CB at RB.

Never see any of the english guys passionately crying, probably cos the anthem is shocking

Everyone talking about Mbappe but Giroud is also in top form

I dont ever comment about a posters on here, because 99% are good, the others not worth it ,but this post is a joke , the poster is a joke, clearly butt hurt about Ronaldo.
Ah. More insults instead of thoughtful rebuttal. This bothers me less than a child calling me a poo poo head.

Still baffling to me how Halilhodzic kept his job for so long, especially after the whole Ziyech debacle. Also not a big fan of a foreigner coaching the NT, but that's a different subject.
He's a fine coach and a good builder who did an excellent job with Algeria in the 2014 WC. But also too authoritarian and stuck in his ways which can be a double edged sword. A coach's nationality isn't a problem for me as long as they understand the (footballing) culture of the country they're in and work with and/or around it.

He'll catch it for saying that. Pepe doesn't give a toss but can FIFA sanction Bruno for our games?
Nah, no chance. Slap on the wrist at worst.

Unless they say something truly abhorrent players usually don’t get into much trouble for post match interviews, there’s the understanding that they’re mentally drained and prone to saying something a bit daft
