Robben would've destroyed the Swiss.

Messi looks so slow. He just tries to attempt a dribble here and there that ends in nothing.
 
Sabella is the most unlikeable coach at this World Cup for me. His tactics aren't helping his either.
 
The Swiss are so much more efficient with possession. When they have the ball there is a clear sense of purpose. When Argentina has the ball, they look like they don't know what to do with it.

He can't be any worse than whats been out there during the world cup. Messi has had a few minutes of good play in 3 and half games. The rest of the squad have managed about 20 minutes between them.

Tevez, for all his cnutishness, always, always leaves everything on the pitch. That effort alone would transform this Argentinian side.
 
Ricardo Rodriguez does not look anything special from the games I have seen in the WC. In fact he looks abit clumsy and heavy and lacks pace. Why was he hyped up by some people in here?
 
Argentina very poor. I had them as favorites to win the entire tournament, but now I think that they won't be able to defeat any top team.

Really? He's been great today, and was fantastic in their opening game.

They've been ok - Messi will probably pop up out of nowhere and get a 2nd half brace.
 
Its amazing that Romero is the starting goalkeeper for a team like Argentina. The dude is a reserve behind Subasic at Monaco, and Subasic couldnt even start for Croatia ahead of Pletikosa (the worst goalkeeper at this tournament) at this World Cup!!!

They really should have brought Willy from Malaga. Was the best goalkeeper in La Liga two seasons ago and only Courtois and Navas (Levante and Costa Rica) were better this one!!

PS. Argentinas startin dwfence isnt too bad. Zabaleta is one of the worlds beat right backs, Garay is a starter for a top 10 world club in Benfica, Fernandez has been a regular for Napoli, and Rojo is a decent enough young left back from Sporting!
 
Mascherano, Aguero, Higuain, Zabalata, Messi, Di Maria... These lot should've shown a lot more this tournament.

He's been good today. He was pretty good against Ecuador too. I would have preferred him to Shaw but I guess Shaw's not a bad replacement, albeit a little more expenisve.

The coach can't motivate this bunch? They don't seem to have desire and urgency.

Maybe this game yes, but things will become harder on next rounds. I think that even Belgium can eleminate them. In fact wouldn't be surprised if they go home today.
 
Switzerland the better team so far, but I'm all for eliminating them with immediate effect for that Drmic effort.
 
€40m for Higuain. Looks like Arsenal dodged a bullet with that one

Switzerland should be ahead, two golden chances. The way this world cup has been going they are going to regret this.
 
I can actually see Switzerland nicking it. Shaqiri looks dangerous and Garay, Fernandes and Romero seem to have the attention span of a goldfish.
 
One of Belgium, Argentina or the USA will be in the semi final of the World Cup, despite all of them looking pretty unimpressive in the group stages, somehow stumbling out of it with 1-0 or 2-1 wins when they could've easily gone the other way.
 
I must have some bad luck because I never tune in to see a good performance from Diego Costa, Higuain or Cavani...

Argentina have tried to replace having a system with having Messi and it isn't working. They are totally unbalanced in midfield and attacking areas. Lavezzi and Higuain is no kind of combination, they have totally different playing styles and when you throw Messi into the mix it all looks a bit tossed together at the last moment. Messi's on-going acceleration issues aren't helping either.

Much like England they have decided to shoehorn certain players into their starting XI rather than picking the best team. The whole thing needs to be built around Messi. Higuain should probably be removed, the centre of midfield needs padding out to create angles for triangles, and Lavezzi and Di Maria should be used as proper inside forwards. In other words they should just copy what Barcelona do at their best. If they're going to be successful they need to play the system that has been the most successful for Messi.
