The Brazilian mentality is so weak, too emotional, reminds me of that Germany game.
The global football standard is so much higher now so their technique and skill is no longer the difference maker it once was. They no longer produce the world's best players, look at the front line of 02 compared to today, it's like a murderers row of talent, whereas the players today are decent.

No which is why Croatia went through. I don't think they were great. As much a smash and grab as you'll see. Only difference between a United vs Stoke upset is that Croatia play some decent keep ball. Their actual football was mediocre.

I kinda think this Brazil side was one of the best teams of the tournament but the problem for me seemed to be that Casemiro was often on his own or the only defensive midfielder. playing that way against THAT Croatian midfield was going to be a problem

Regardless of what happens in rest of the WC, Gvardiol is undoubtedly Young Player of the Tournament. Obviously was well known before but he's used this stage to show just how truly elite he is.
Added to that was that Croatia are actually a very good team with plenty of quality, especially with their passing.

Croatia world champions of penalties. Their shooters are good and composed and their GK is obviously great at stopping them. I dont see Argentina or Netherlands beating them. At this point I'm hoping for a repeat of last WC final.

It's a great achievement and incredible for a nation of that size to get so far into a World Cup twice on the bounce in the modern era... it's just that nobody wants to watch any more of their fecking matches where they play for pens from minute one again.

Like I said I don't care for Brazil or the times I've seen them knocked but I do a little this time. Margins between a 3-0 and losing on pens today was very fine.

I think most are fairly neutral on Croatia, but they've been one of the most boring teams at this tournament. It's okay to point that out. I wouldn't classify that as hate.
I'm glad Casemiro scored his and Antony wasn't sent up. After how Rashford and Sancho struggled to regain confidence when they missed their Euro final penalties, I didn't want to see a confidence less Antony coming back to Manchester

Croatia have been a brilliant team to watch for the majority of the past decade. If they were to win when their best generation is a little bit overcooked, it will be in memory of better recent times. One thing that is absolutely sure is that Croatia isn't a purposely cynical team, they just lack a bit of quality nowadays.
Letting your best player go last in a pen shootout is so stupid. I never understand teams that do that. Let your best go first and try and get a lead.
