Day 13: Italy vs. Uruguay

They celebrated like they'd won the competition when they weren't even through, it was pretty pathetic. He was crying and rolling around and everything. When we scored to equalize to basically stay in we didn't hug each other as if it was the biggest thing in the world.

We've got through the group stages plenty of times? Didn't celebrate as if we'd just won the thing.

It's the World Cup. Footballers are by nature more emotional than other athletes from other sports even on a regular basis. Much less the World Cup.
Look at Ghana's insane celebration dances. Look at Mexico's over the top celebrations. Look at Colombia's. Look at Brazil's. Look at the French. The Dutch. Etc etc..........They all celebrate over the top. It's what they do. Singling out Suarez for that is a bit unfair.

Looking forward to this. Italy needing only a draw will not be afraid of openly shithousing, and we know how Uruguay get when they're frustrated. Could be an all-time shithousing classic.

Suarez isn't a racist. He is a great striker and the third best footballer in the World. Hands down. A wonderful person and a great striker. When I met him in London a few months ago, he shook my hand. He's a brilliant finisher and a fantastic visionary artist on the field. Wonderful speed and fantastic pace to go along with a wonderful right foot. Good with his left too. One of the best strikers the PL'S ever seen. He's not better than Henry was, but he sure as Hell is in the same class.

:lol: Well there we go then, he's basically Gandhi. He shook your damn hand. Never mind him going around biting other humans and constantly trying to hurt or abuse his fellow players.

Shame he didn't have the bollocks to shake the hand of the guy he'd racially abused. Whether he's a racist or made a stupid error because he's a stupid person, to refuse to show respect after that incident sums him up as a person. Childish and petulant.

He's a fecking brilliant player but a truly awful person.

He's a little better now. Think that Abitab commercial really helped him realize what a cnut he was.

Cavani and Ibrahimovic are weird. How many big footballers are good on the ball? I can't recall a lot of them, past or present.

Berbatov? There's always been a few around. Obviously being big makes it less likely to be skillful, but there will always be people deviating from the norm. Besides, Cavani isn't that big (1,84). Plenty of footballers with that height are good on the ball, I'd say it's around 1,90 that it becomes a scarcer resource.

1.84?! That's shocking. He is my height! He looks much taller than that. Ibrahimovic at 1.95 is the real anomaly then. Berbatov is 1.89 but good call nonetheless. I knew I must've forgotten someone obvious.

He does, doesn't he? I looked it up on google and whilst most sources quote him at 1,84 there's a few quoting him at 1,88. Looking at him and comparing him to other players it does seem the later are closer to truth. Also FIFA's official world cup site also lists him at 1,88.
