Didn't hear them, what were they?
Something along the lines of everyone in the english press laughing at him and being hyper-critical towards him. He said he dreamt of this moment, to silence them and he wonders how they feel now. Not in those words but pretty much that.

But they were being over-critical of him. Not much in that honestly.

Meh, he has a point. It's not like he insulted England or tried to annoy English fans like Balotelli.

He is playing the victim again. Not like he gave the press any reason to hate him what with the kicking players, feigning injury, diving, getting players sent off, hair pulling, racism and biting. Poor little Suarez always getting picked on. Do me a favour.

I said before the tournament that the South American teams would take some shock European scalps, I think this could be one of them.

Pains me to say it but I fancy a Suarez-inspired Uruguay to get through. Although ubiquitous in the latter stages of most tournaments, this Italian team is bland and pedestrian at the minute. Their results dating back to the end of the qualifiers are unimpressive, Uruguay will be looking to go at them.

Yes, it was a straight red..and Uruguay go through with winning the penalty

I realized, that in that moment, you will do everything for your country glory, even if its an embarassing moments

Nothing embarrassing about it. Was one of the most epic moments in the World Cup.

Overly critical? Poor guy. Heh, it's hard man, it's hard to be a racist in England these days.

Jeez, they even gave him some reward.

I'm not sure this would qualify as a shock. Uruguay have been performing at about the same level as Italy for the last 6 or so years.

Not so much Uruguay beating Italy, but Italy not qualifying from the group. The real shock would be Costa Rica of course.

I reckon Uruguay's got this. They look a different team with Suarez, not to mention he looks determined to prove his doubters wrong. Although I'm not a fan of the Italians I do want a bigger European representation, but I can't look past Uruguay. 2:1 in their favour I reckon.

Hoping for an exciting game though, whatever the outcome.

For the 500th time, he doesn't have any doubters from a footballing perspective. He won top individual honours in England this year. One of them was voted for by football writers, those who are out to get him apparently.

Can we stop repeating a line that doesn't make sense? He was barely criticised considering all he's done over the years. Racism, TWO biting incidents, a ton of dirty challenges, an infamous handball at the world cup, diving galore, and then on top of all that, claiming innocence and that people are out to get him. The gall of some fecking people.

Erm...

a) they aren't through yet. They need to beat Italy to go through, the celebrations are totally premature
b) no, we wouldn't. If we had won the Uruguay game it would be considered a decent result, not the best thing in the world.

We're talking about if they win against italy

Mind you, it's a win or out game. So i can undetstand them celebrating

And meh... England never won when it matters, when was the last time they won anything of note?

Really hope Italy win this - hopefully they shake their line up around somewhat because I didn't think the way they set up against Costa Rica helped them. Ballotelli was isolated and Marchisio was ineffectual from the left, so it all added up to a lack of creativity and goal threat.

Italy: Buffon, De Sciglio, Chiellini, Darmian, Barzagli, Bonucci, Marchisio, Pirlo, Veratti, Balotelli, Immobile

Uruguay: Muslera, Godin, Caceres, Gimenez, A. Pereira, C. Rodriquez, Lodeiro, Arevalo, Gonzal, Cavani, Suarez

No De Rossi? That's weird, or is he suspended/injured?

Italy will probably nick a draw or a late win, but I'm supporting Uruguay for obvious reasons.

De Rossi will be a big loss but I really can't see Italy losing this. Prandelli has pumped them up big time for this game, hopefully a good showing from Immobile here too, still think Prandelli should have started him against Costa Rica.

I think De Rossi is comfortably better than Marchisio and Veratti, maybe he's injured. Apart from De Rossi being out the shape looks an improvement for Italy.

Italy seldom disappoint when it matters, they were nowhere near Germany quality wise at Euro yet beat them comfortably in a semi. Remembering them at the last World Cup versus Slovakia I will hold myself until the game actually starts before I pass any judgement on this side though, they were awful against Costa Rica.

Suarez isn't a racist. He is a great striker and the third best footballer in the World. Hands down. A wonderful person and a great striker. When I met him in London a few months ago, he shook my hand. He's a brilliant finisher and a fantastic visionary artist on the field. Wonderful speed and fantastic pace to go along with a wonderful right foot. Good with his left too. One of the best strikers the PL'S ever seen. He's not better than Henry was, but he sure as Hell is in the same class.

Yes, he only uses racist language to rile up his opponents, but he doesn't actually believe it.

Class act.

I somehow struggle to believe that he is a wonderful person. He might not be as much of a cnut off the pitch as he's on it (would probably be killed by now if he were) but his on the pitch antics are enough for him not to worry about being called a wonderful person.

They celebrated like they'd won the competition when they weren't even through, it was pretty pathetic. He was crying and rolling around and everything. When we scored to equalize to basically stay in we didn't hug each other as if it was the biggest thing in the world.

We've got through the group stages plenty of times? Didn't celebrate as if we'd just won the thing.

Let's just enjoy this great match. Stop talking about rumors and accusations.

Crap, this is actually on now? I thought it was going to be played in the evening with group C coming up now.

Should be a cracker. Hopefully well see another Pirlo master class.
