Day 13: Costa Rica vs. England

Did anyone else read today that someone (I forget who) called for Gary the Nev to be next England manager. Surely he has more sense than to want that

Still Rooney not up top. feck me, why are England managers so utterly utterly inept.

I thought Wilshere had done alright at times. Not sure there was any need to take him off for Gerrard.

Dead rubber in a world cup. Planning for the future. We finish the match with Gerrard and Lampard in the middle.

I like Hodgson and I think he should keep the job, but we English really have never quite figured out what 'planning ahead' actually means, have we?

Such a poor player.

No idea where this is coming from. He's been very defensively solid down that side.

He's not a right back and so his passing/attacking game has been poor but we knew this. He can be a very good CB.

Chris Waddle rant in about half hour I reckon. Gerrard/Lampard midfield and Rooney wide.

Thanks Roy.

Big cheer for Rooney. England finally have someone on who can fecking score.

Only surprise was that Milner was still on. If he didn't play for City he wouldn't be here.

Come on, it is almost certainly Lampard's last game for England and there is a good chance Gerrard will retire as well, that is why they're on the pitch right now.

The issue most people have is the disparity between the treatment he receives from the media and the treatment most United players receive.

Edit: plus him playing shit . again.
I personally don't think he was as bad as some on here have made out vs Italy & Uruguay. He's been poor today but it's a dead rubber, don't really see the point criticising anyone too much today.

It's a popular phrase at the end of every unsuccessful national campaign

Been disappointed by Sterling since he's come on. Looked a bit sloppy.
