Day 11: England vs Panama, Japan vs Senegal and Poland vs Colombia

The England defending is sloppy. You give those kinds of spaces to Belgium and you’ll get punished.

Maguire is a good carrier of the ball but his actual passing leaves a lot to be desired sometimes.

Same can be said for all three defenders really. It's guaranteed to gift serious chances against Belgium and the like. Its admirable to try and play it from the back but the players aren't there to do it at a high level.

My God the dreads guy in number 5 is a huge human being

England's defence is going to be ripped apart by any decent side in this World Cup. I don't think I have seen a more unintelligent back-five for an England side

I hate this thing happening at the World Cup this year.

Team A's player is down and team A has the ball. Team A keeps playing until the ball is lost to team B. Team A suddenly form some manners and request the ball to be put out.

Wtf?

I know the play acting and histrionics are strong in La Liga but has anyone ever known it to be so frequent in a World Cup apart from this one?

Making out like Walker saw the run and was trying to pick Trippier out, he basically just clipped it anywhere to the touchline under the press.

Yeah. God knows why Walker is playing at centre back as opposed to an actual centre back.

Clumsy tackle, a bit soft IMO

Edit - nope, replay makes it clear

I like Walker as a right back but he doesn't have any positioning sense when it comes to being a centre back. It's going to cost them in the knockout stages

Will english fans stop moaning about not getting a penalty now...

Well we arguably should have had about 3 or 4 in the tournament before we finally got this one, in a tournament with VAR and a record number of penalties I think we rightly feel a bit hard done by.
