Didn't Rafa play him as DM in a few matches during his short reign at Chelse?.
Yeah, but no one will tell you Carvajal, Luiz, Ramos and Marcelo are arguably the best in their positions defensively.

He did have a good season, but never in a million years would he have been the 'world class' bracket, for me.

I struggle to remember any CFC fans calling him world class, most were sceptical at first though settled for grudging respect though a few teams threatened our defensive stability last season which is why a lot of us favour Christensen now.
If you have a look at his thread on here from last season there were plenty of world class references.
Perhaps I missed it as I joined in Mar and took me several months to get the ten likes. My comments are based mainly on two Chelsea forums.
