Bargain at €20million, to say hes only 20 years old. Would love him at the club, but you never know who is interested in him.

Who can be interested in him? Arsenal need a goalkeeper, Milan need a goalkeeper then there is us, and possily Bayern Munich. It's not like there is some huge market for goalies - of all these teams I could only see Milan grabbing him ahead of us.

Agreed. The only problem might be setting for a fee with Atletico, but if the player wants a move and we are, in fact, interested in him, then I can see us buying him.

I'll just give him a call, hang on.

No it was mentioned on twitter by one of the more reliable ITK's.. KarlsenTK maybe, can't remember

Well I don't mean I don't believe you, was just curious myself because I've never seen an interview with De Gea in English.

I'm in support of us signing De Gea, we still have Lindegaard to play backup if De Gea loses his spot. I would think Tomasz will probably leave in the window.

FreddieBoswell7 on twitter (usually pretty reliable) said he checked out the story and there wasn't an official bid but 'talks will continue'

From GuillemBalague's twitter

#mufc and at mdrd have spoken about de gea.m u happy to pay 20-25m euros+have spoken to player 2.but de gea still undecided.all in his hands

The fact that's Ballague means it's probably wrong, but I hope he's right and the clubs have reached some sort of understanding.

Don't see why De Gea wouldn't want to leave other than for personal reasons - CL football, winning medals and being number 1 at OT is a great incentive as is the wages he's likely to earn.

That's what every 'ITK' has been saying for a few weeks. It's all in De Gea's hands. Looks like he wasn't too keen on it before and his agent was trying to push it. But he's apprently in the process of switching agents now.

feck I hope one of Neuer or De Gea come.

Neuer, who just let in a goal from a shot from the half way line?

Actually he was unlucky, he cleared the ball that was falling for Milito and Stankovic took it first time, brilliant shot. Couldn't have done anything.

Charley looks like a right cock now.

I was going to make a similar comment about Neur after I read the commentary that his headed clearance fell to Stankovic who scored then on an open goal. On see how all keepers make mistakes. But, man what a goal. Neur could have in hindsight tried to clear it more to the sidelines and not back into the middle but, really who would have thought.

Neuer's as good as sold to Bayern. If De Gea rejects us now, do we wait a year and see if he's ready then or move on? Stekelenburg I don't rate and will probably be another Barthez/Howard. Adler would be left, unless we somehow get Buffon or someone for a couple of years until De Gea's ready to move.

Not so sure about that!
Bayerns supporters aren't happy about Neuer. They will have a word or two with Hoeness about this.

Well at very least he's said he doesn't want to leave Germany. Maybe it was just posturing to get a move to Bayern and he'll go back on it if that move doesn't go off. Either way I rate Adler higher of the two.

He seems to be getting expense with every passing day. We started out at 16m and then moved to 18m and then it stayed at 20m for a few months and now it might be 25m?

I have a feeling we are going to stick to Lindegaard and Kuszczak for some time, there is simply no value in the market when it comes to goalkeepers and we won't settle for leftovers. Milan and Arsenal will be in the market for goalkeepers as well and it will be tough to compete with either (well, Arsenal not so much but Milan definitely).

No chance. I think one area SAF always knows he needs to have someone brilliant in is GK. We'll get the best we can get, whatever about midfielders or wingers.

Lindegaard and Kuszcack as our #1 and #2 would be a disaster.

Stekelenburg seems to be a very good GK, to be honest. There's still Lloris who is not bad either, and Buffon who, at the moment, is still uncertain whether he will stay with Juve - even if De Gea decides to stay with Atletico, there still are some interesting options left.

16 & 18 were always ludicrous prices and completely unrealistic, the 25 million is the very upper end which is what guillem ballbag said.

To be fair, I think it will be necessary to pay a fee close to his release clause (€20m, as quoted by his agent) to get him. Atletico are in no rush to sell him and I get a feeling that, sooner or later, some club will be more than happy to pay the aforementioned fee for him.

Really? The suggestion that we've spoken Atletico about de Gea and that it's "now in the player's hands" leads me to believe that we will not be sticking with Lindegaard and Kuszczak as our top 2 keepers.

I have no doubt we will bring in a top class keeper to replace Edwin in the summer, whether that's de Gea or whoever.

Ballague was saying on Revista last night that the 20-25m Euros 'includes VAT', is the tax something to do with non Spanish clubs meeting the buy out clause?
