Fiorentina seems a good move.
Awesome! Finally get to see him making high flying Hollywood saves again!
€2m fixed plus up to €1m in add-ons from what I read, increasing to 3+1 in the second year if Fiorentina pull the option.€3m a year to live in Florence is a pretty sweet outcome.
Think he made another very good save as well.De Gea saves TWO penalties as his new team beat Milan 2-1!
It was the right move to get rid, he was one of the highest earners in the world. Love the guy but you've also got to be better with your feet in this day and age, especially under this manager. And we let him go for free!!!
Some lovely words from Deano, he had the best seat watching the amazing keeper David was.

Well yeah, there was no way we were getting a fee for him if his contract wasn't upAnd we let him go for free!!!
There's a big Danish bloke who'd like a word.No doubt peak De Gea was something else and he's easily our third best keeper ever. Spanish ninja Jesus rescued us many times .

Overpaid, scared of controlling the box and not a very good passer. In the end he wasn't at a level that would have justified a new contract anymore. Still was terrible how it actually unfolded with the withdrawn contract proposal, but stays the right decision. And we let him go for free!!!
Yeah I don't think letting De Gea go was ever the wrong decision. Who we replace him with is still up in the air however. Onana scares me.Overpaid, scared of controlling the box and not a very good passer. In the end he wasn't at a level that would have justified a new contract anymore. Still was terrible how it actually unfolded with the withdrawn contract proposal, but stays the right decision.
If going for Onana was the right decision stays another question however.
And not a peep ever since about passing from the GK department because it's very popular opinion that Onana is some kind of great passer while in reality he is very hit and miss whenever he is put under pressure or needs to go long. Onana in contrast looks much more comfortable with the ball at his feet that is for sure.Overpaid, scared of controlling the box and not a very good passer. In the end he wasn't at a level that would have justified a new contract anymore. Still was terrible how it actually unfolded with the withdrawn contract proposal, but stays the right decision.

It wasn't even just the ball at feet jssue. It was the right move to get rid, he was one of the highest earners in the world. Love the guy but you've also got to be better with your feet in this day and age, especially under this manager.
