Didn’t have much to do, didn’t do anything wrong and didn’t have a chance in hell of catching that belter.
Let Leeds keep Meslier, I’d rather have de Gea in goal )Just Compare Meslier and this guy today and you will realize what are we lacking.
A keeper as reactive as him is actually a nightmare to the defenders. Did he even come out once? It was like his feet was glued to the goal line.

Yeah, we definitely need the guy we’ve stuck 11 past in the last year.A keeper as reactive as him is actually a nightmare to the defenders. Did he even come out once? It was like his feet was glued to the goal line.

DDG would have been questioned to some extent over at least 2 of the goals today. 1st one for uncertain positioning and weak stopping, third for being caught in no man's land and being very easily sold by a dummy.
Some would have even asked about the 2nd and 5th goals.

So you want eccentric keepers ala Jordan Pickford who is always looking jacked and ready for a wild night.
No thanks.
He may come for them, but that doesn’t mean it’s always the right decision. People have got this notion in their head that keepers coming off their line is always a good thing. It isn’t. Which is why Meslier made more errors leading to goals than De Gea did last season.Try to get the context and reply. Coming for high balls despite being shorter in height is one of his trait while we have a immovable object in goal with no intention to come forward.
No one said we should get Meslier but DDG can learn something from him on coming off his line.

You made it De Gea vs Meslier when you made the comparison. Your point being we’d be better off with a keeper like Meslier. You know who’s a keeper like Meslier? Meslier. People have responded by saying we may not necessarily be better off because some realise there’s more to being a keeper than charging out for every cross. You are making this DDG vs Meslier, while my point is completely different. If you still want to ignore the original point and say DDG wasn't wrong today, go ahead.
I remember atleast 3 occasions where he should have come forward and got the ball. Including the one Maguire openly called him for.
There is only 1 goal against man utd.DDG would have been questioned to some extent over at least 2 of the goals today. 1st one for uncertain positioning and weak stopping, third for being caught in no man's land and being very easily sold by a dummy.

Yeah thank God for that save but he does not fill me with confidence. Didn't come out a few times today even to the edge of his box. He’s dreadful at so many aspects of goalkeeping. Sick of the sight of him.
Some will point to his save from Armstrong but there was so much shite in that display. Just catch the ball, you big Jessie.
Seriously, even De Gea couldn't get a pass today??
Caf never fails to surprise me. What do you want him to do today?
Instil a sense of authority into proceedings by catching the ball from crosses and free kicks instead of flapping at them like some schoolboy from the academy?
Didn't lose.Is he at fault for our terrible loss today?
Didn't lose.
Is he at fault for our terrible loss today?
We didn’t lose, but even if we did I fail to see why scrutinising his performance is an issue. He doesn’t need to cost us a goal to play poorly and instil a sense of panic into the team.
Is he at fault for any goal today. What does catching corner balls going to change anything today?
He should catch it, and what?
Alisson had some dodgy moments yesterday as well dealing with corners.
Why do we have to whine about something like this?

He is a weak point for us playing out the back. This is his performance thread and we can discuss it.Is he at fault for any goal today. What does catching corner balls going to change anything today?

Yeah I agree with this. It was a good anticipated save. But his flaws are there which wont improve.Good save vs Armstrong, but he looked very nervy today overall. So many easy catches he chose to punch. Still so poor at coming off his line to clear or claim overhit through balls. He should have been out for the one which Lindelof made a meal of and conceded a corner, and a few others.
No blame for the goal, the deflection took it the other way, and he still did well to get as close to it as he did. But his lack of improvements on the basics is a major concern.

I'll need to watch the goal again and I knew there was a big deflection but I thought maybe he could have saved it? Seem like he didn't move his feet that well, which is something I do think he is poor with.
Good save at the end, 'ok' with the ball, zero command of his penalty box and almost rooted to his 6 yard box regardless of the occassion.
De Gea gonna De Gea, sigh.
The original shot was going wide of the opposite corner hence the Fred own goal. There was an instance where a long ball came into our area and Lindelof was running to cover being chased by Armstrong. Any other team and you see the keeper appear on the screen and take the ball but you know with Dave this isn't happening. Eventually Lindelof, who should also have done better, got pressured into giving away a corner.
Agreed, it happens every single game and it's infuriating to watch. Can't even imagine what it's like playing in front of a keeper like that. He just constantly invites pressure. There was an instance where a long ball came into our area and Lindelof was running to cover being chased by Armstrong. The only time he seems to leave his line is when he sprints out, stamping his feet and shouting after we haven’t closed down a shot. Then he’s like Usain pissing Bolt. There was an instance where a long ball came into our area and Lindelof was running to cover being chased by Armstrong.
