Need to see the disallowed goal again but I thought he was poor for that. Could have easily claimed or cleared that.

Also it happened far too many times in the game where he was just absolutely rooted to his spot leading to all of his defenders needing to drop right on the 6 yard box defending, shuffling or clearing in awkward situations.

Ole or the coaches need to slap it out of him ffs.

Your nickname is piss funny considering your general posts in here....

Would've loved to see the reactions in here if he had position himself off the line to clear the ball going across goal, only for Firminio to get a touch and score while De Gea was off the line....

There's nothing, absolutely nothing, wrong with the positioning for their goal.

Read my post again, I was talking about Mane's 'goal'.

Yeah, in the 2nd half there was a ball that was drilled through everything that rolled into the penalty area and almost all the way to the byline, which Young and Rojo scrambed back for, it would have been an easy claim for De Gea if he wasn't scared of coming 10 yards off his line.

It is his one true weakness which I'm surprised he's not gotten better at. How many goalkeeping coaches have come through the club in his time here, and how have none of them worked on it with him.

That's what i get for reading too fast :(

Yes, on that occasion he should've gone for it when the ball bounced and it became clear that lindelof didn't have control of the situation.

The more times I watch the replay of their goal, the more I get confused by De Gea's movements. Once the ball goes past Firmino and Lindelof, De Gea starts to move back towards his goal, when had he kept to his original position, it would have been relatively easy to claim the cross. Of course Pereira, Wan-Bisska, Young and especially Rojo, were all poor for that goal.

He's been a very ordinary keeper since the start of last season.

Doesn't Dean Henderson have more clean sheets than De Gea so far this season? I know it's not all DDG's fault, but it's a peculiar stat when you think about it.

Bournemouth 1:0 Man Utd
He's such a fecking pussy

I will repeat it again - our loaned GK Dean Henderson has more clean sheets and is nominated for Player of the Month.

In all fairness - we haven't been conceding tonnes of goals and I can't really recall a goal conceded that I could blame on De Gea that was half as bad as the one Henderson let in against Liverpool.

Clean sheets are a team issue. The only time that's not been the case is when De Gea saved us a million times.

No problem, though the whole situation is no laughing matter. De Gea is paid £350k per week, will he get scrutinised for being average like Sanchez did?
‘Being average’

He is the highest paid GK in the world, he should be saving us, it's why we gave him this new contract. Otherwise, what is the difference between him and Henderson, who if given the game time here, might prove to be what we need?

Strange comparison. Alexis was awful, not average. If you take that Dean Henderson data alone it looks bad, but was he at fault for all the goals we conceded thus far. I guess cause of his salary some fans will be on his back constantly.

Yeah but you blamed De Gea for today's goal too, so there's not really much point in anyone paying attention to you on this subject is there?

You've really got it in for him if you're choosing this time to do this. DDG also made a cracking save today that a lot of keepers wouldn't.

I would start Romero over him for the next few games at least . His refexes have hone and that was his major asset

One or two amazing saves but also refused to leave his line for an easy pick up of the ball, which almost cost a goal.
My man of the match but there was no competition today.

Love how people are calling De Gea bang average etc saying he cost us points when our side can’t even score a goal.

I’m pretty sure he’s not the problem. Our defence has been strong this season and he’s not bang average. Defence is the least of our worries. Sometimes you ship a goal it happens it’s no big deal unless you can’t score even a single goal.

Prove me wrong then. In the PL only, there are at least 3 GKs, who are better than him right now. And there are a few more that are debatable on current form as well.
Clean sheet stats don't = better keeper. I guarantee Alisson wouldn't be anything like the keeper people think he is if he played for us.

It's not just the clean sheets though. Other GKs are much more vocal than De Gea, organise their defense much better, more brave when the ball is in the air or are much more willing to rush out and clean through balls. His reflexes are nothing like before, a lot of the goals we have conceded in the last 12-14 months, the De Gea of old would have saved easily.

So what does DDG actually do to a world class standard these days?

He makes saves others wouldn't. Including today. De Gea isn't the problem.

Not at fault for the goal but can he come off his fecking line sometimes and relieve the defence of pressure? There was a long ball around the 46th min mark in behind that Lindelof had to chase all the way into the box to backpass to De Gea because he refused to leave the sanctity of his line. So frustrating and just invites pressure on to us.

I strongly disagree. That was in the past. Many GKs make crazy saves during a season, it's the consistency that set De Gea apart before, because he always lacked in other areas like ball distribution, aerial dominance, being a vocal senior player and reaction to through balls.

does my head in too, he doesn’t even come off his line for easy balls.

Nowhere near as many as De Gea. Even last season. He's not perfect at some things so we should play to his strengths like you should any quality player - or rather work out how to alleviate their weaknesses. Our defenders should be much better at dealing with aerial threats and lack of leadership doesn't help with him not being as vocal as some.

Sure there is. Why don't you prove us wrong?
