I believe there are lots of keepers who wears contact lens and don't think it bothers them that much
Manchester United's error-prone David de Gea may need eye surgery
• Goalkeeper is long-sighted and plays in contact lenses
• Spaniard has lost first-team place after string of mistakes
No matter which we you look at it, this has been a bad transfer for the immediate number 1 spot. At £25m for a keeper you shouldn't be getting a decent prospect for the future but one of the best keepers in the world.
Believe me if he does have lazer treatment he won't be able to play for circa 6 months. Even after your eyes fully recover, it takes your brain even longer to adapt.
That's why he has 2,614 posts in 10.5 years. All 3 United in talking bollocks shock

After lazer treatment, you're perfectly fine within 2 days.
No, your brain doesn't understand it and pretends you're a different species.
his poor brain must have really struggled with the contacts, eh?
Totally different believe me. Its very bizzare.
Regarding the other amusing replies... I am talking bollocks regarding De Gea's transfer at £18m being a bad one for the IMMEDIATE number 1 shirt??! Yes obviously total bollocks!
£18m should be the finished article for a keeper. That's all i am saying. Yes the kid looks like a very promising prospect but we needed a world class keeper for the vacant shirt of VDS, not a promising prospect with all the inevitable consistency issues.
All 3 United; stop saying 'believe me' - nobody does.
I'm with All 3 United on this. £18m for a keeper at that age is absolutely insane. You could get most top keepers today -finished article- for that price.

How many World Class keepers are there out there and how easily available are they? If De Gea spends the rest of his career here and realises his potential, everyone will be calling it a bargain. All keepers have consistency issues, only the truly World Class ones overcome this to an extent and even then it's not until their mid to late 30's.
If you but that money up you would get Buffon. You could probably get any of the keepers in the premier league except for the impossible transfers like Liverpool and Chelsea and City - but that's mainly due to the unrealistic nature of their bankbook.
There are plenty of keepers that are available for that price.

Yes I get why we signed him and to add even more strength to the decision keepers at the top level tend to stay at the one top club.
But I still think given our circumstances (VDS retiring) that it was a poor decision for certainly this season and possibly next. We should have signed a prospect to act as an understoody to VDS in his latter years not just signed one and thrown in him at the deep end.
Mark Schwarzer.

Who?
Like who?
Mark Schwarzer.
Schwarzer
He's been injured for about 2 months and isn't an automatic start for Fulham
The only keeper I'd have here from the PL is Reina.
As much as De Gea is being lambasted for contributing to our CL exit, Hart was culpable for his fair share of the goals City conceded (especially Bayern away) as well.
Jussi Jaaskelainen fits the bill.
And Neuer isn't exactly setting the world alight at Bayern either, if i remember right many wanted us to sign him.

It was not long ago he held some sort of insane clean sheets record - and they didn't let a goal in for ages. How the hell did this turn into something negative from one month to the other?
He's made a fair few mistakes this season from what I've seen and guess what, he's injured too right now.
