David Coote allegations | Sacked

It's really stupid, but I have possible theory. Some people do stupid shit for to fit in, to be liked or to be seen as good laugh and one of the boys. They have a diffcult time saying no, or even come up with the idea of doing daft things themselves for a bit attention.

Most grow out of that need to impress in childhood, their teens or in earlyadulthood but it's not always the case. Some people are just insecure like that and it leads them to take silly risks.

Might be going way too far with my armchair psychology here, and to be honest I'm describing myself a bit as sad as that is so could it just be projection. It happens though.
People in general need to stop recording their mates when out on the lash. I have to be careful around certain individuals because they like to record you letting your hair down.

I do find that especially annoying! The rare occasion I go on the boozer and hit the dance floor and some pleb decides to film me and put it on the group chat! It’s annoying! Just let me get merry and quietly worry the next day if I offended anyone!

Poor fecker. I have no idea of course of how ugly this all gets, but superficiality he comes over as a sound enough bloke only with extreme tw*t ‘friends’

Just can’t see him getting back, even if he’s allowed to. Every single decision he would make, right or wrong would get abuse from players and fans. Every game would be toxic and I don’t think anyone would be mentally strong enough to take

With how shit football culture is and how footballers look down on homosexuality I reckon the possible outing of Coote, whether true or not, is ultimately worse than him doing drugs or shittalking Klopp from players' POV.

I get that the Caf is a fairly liberal place but politics really needn't cloud this debate. It's not "only a bit of coke" when you're doing it mid-Euros, a tournament you're paid to be working at.

Frankly, the sad thing is that I don't think he's the only ref who is this much of a mess, he's just the unfortunate sod who's been caught.

What politics? That kind of seems like precisely the time for coke doesn't it? Doesn't really strike me as a sunday league drug personally. I hate it but 'you're supposed to be working' never seemed to stop anyone who enjoys it. Let alone stop them when they're not actually working.
I'd say his biggest mistake is his choice of friends. I'd be shocked if there was a ref who hasn't called Klopp a cnut at some point. 'He hates scousers' was his shit head friends. Theres too much money in the game for coke not to be absolutely bloody everywhere. Which leaves the yellow card thing, which is pretty bad actually.

Politics in the sense that some would want him hung, drawn and quartered for using illegal drugs whereas others aren't bothered in the slightest.

You needn't have an opinion on drug use to see that this is a sackable offence. For better or for worse, he's also representing England while officiating at the Euros and it's not a good look - our fans will come to your city, binge on alcohol & coke and wreck the place, and our officials aren't far behind.

It's a fairly accurate representation to be fair.

Wonder what he did for all this to be released. Wouldn’t be a shock if he had been getting blackmailed or something along those lines for all these stories coming out at once

Will this denial stand up? Initially he denied the video was real, folded about an hour later.

Maybe if he goes down he’ll spill the dirt on PGMOL and the whole house of cards will fall ultimately revealing that Howard Webb was balls deep in Anne Widdecombe.

I’d argue that his point still stands. Most people don’t take cocaine in England.

39 out of 40 don’t do it.
I interpreted it more as 39 / 40 aren't currently doing it. Which is a bit different

I haven't got any data to back it up but it doesn't seem unreasonable to suggest that 39/40 people think that Jurgen Klopp is a cnut so when you add the 2 together that's the whole nation covered.

Dropped two of the worst reffing performances I have seen in his last two games with us and Liverpool.
I had never heard of him prior to that. But from what I saw he wasn’t even a good ref

His last act was to feck us at West Ham.

The amount of people that are on coke/drugs nowadays is ridiculous, if you go to a nightclub easily over 75% of the people there will be on coke or something else. I feel like a suspension and a drug rehab course would’ve sufficed here.

They should be going for the city employee Michael Oliver.

Nah, he was toast once he was on video calling Klopp a G**man cnut.

Maybe I'm just part of the oblivious 25% that has never had an interest in it, but over 75%?! Really?

He got sacked for more than taking a line of coke though.

What do you do if you’re a ref your whole adult life and get sacked? At least if you retire you get a job in the ref offices or as a consultant or something but if you’re sacked what do you do?

Continue to be a referee, he just won't be refereeing PL games, he can ref EFL games, ref abroad, could even be a permanent Abu Dhabi ref

You have to be so careful nowadays with alcohol. I recall a lecturer telling us all about twenty years ago that you must be very careful - you can spend twenty years building your career and then be filmed falling out of pub drunk and lose everything.

Man does a couple of lines and speaks the truth and gets sacked for it.

Games gone, countries woke.
