David Brooks

Caveat was that if he carries on at his current trajectory. If he does, he'll be a proven and effective creator and scorer of PL goals, homegrown and in his early 20s. In a season or so it will definitely cost more than €50 million before we'd accept. That's just the market whether you like it or not. When we're signing players for £30 million, which is almost too crazy for me to comprehend, that's where we're at in the market.

Worth a punt? He always looks bright and would easily be better than some of our current peripheral midfield options. Only 21 as well.
Definitely. Only seen him vs us and some of the other top teams, but he seems the real deal. Very rounded skillset and the right mentality from what I can gather (good vs top teams).

Exactly what we need, a young driving midfielder with a turn of pace and can beat a man with skill. Knows where the net is but also good with assists.

Big United fan too.

He'll go Spurs, then we'll offer £175M for him in three years.

Was at Manchester City's academy for a decade. Would he sign for their biggest rivals?
Ofcourse he would.
These are professional working sportsmen.
Now if it was a case of us or City then his previous alliances towards City may likely come into play.

HE's such a good footballer with natural talent. Can see him having the same effect as Ozil at Arsenal.

Is that supposed to be a compliment?

Looks a real talent.

I remember when he just broke into the Sheffield Utd first team and no suprised from there that he got a move to the EPL with Bournemouth.

He has been excellent this season for them and I wouldn’t mind him here.

Basically the profile of player we thought we were getting with Powell. He looks good but I’m not sure he”ll ever be a starter for a PL winning team. I have this nagging feeling he’s the kind of signing Liverpool used to make while we go and buy the likes of Sancho or someone. His rise has been impressive no doubt and I’m also a crap judge of young players. He does look talented from the obligatory YT clips

I think both Brooks and James Maddison at Leicester will be under some scrutiny from bigger clubs in the remainder of this season. With both, it's probably a bit too early to tell how they will turn out and if they really have the potential to be top level players just yet.

His movement off the ball is constant and he anticipates where the ball is going or where he should pass the ball (i.e into space and not at your feet, etc.). Steady head for a player his age.

He's worth a punt as a quality backup who could eventually challenge for a starting XI spot if United believe he is worthy come Summer. If he moves too soon to a big club, which I believe is the case right now, his growth might stagnate a bit because he's not playing and he would have to up his game up a notch and have the mentality to compete for a squad role then potential starting role.

If we didn't have 100 other things to spend money on i'd love for us to sign him and loan him back to Bournemouth for a season, or maybe 2. I think he's going to be a great midfielder, perhaps the right guy to replace Herrera eventually?

He reminds me of a young Giggsy. Not as good but if you watch his videos, very similar technique and style. Would love him at United, definitely worth a punt.

Not quite the profile as Herrera and he's done his best so far on the front line for Bournemouth. He pops up everywhere in the final third. I would actually play Lingard in the Herrera position (8) like he did with England during the World Cup, which kept Alli out of the starting line up (and rightfully so) and play Brooks from the right side with freedom to move about and the RB to provide the necessary width/wide outlet/wide linkup.

And I just read that Brooks was born in Warrington, same birthplace as Lingard.

He is going places... Got something about himself

Yes he does.
Apart from his obvious footballing skills he looks like he is fully committed and plays with a lot of confidence and self assurance.

He is pretty impressive. Shame he is Welsh.

If you don't have pace, you won't have pace. He can be a strong runner instead. Pretty much like Beckham.

Not a flyer, but enough to get away from players... are David Silva, or Ozil 'fast, pacy' players..? course not, but they can drive and dictate matches.. I feel Brooke needs a little of this in his game.

This guy needs to be bought so he can be a cover of our AM which we lack & our RW.

Direct replacement for Mata & can Hopefully be used occasionally as an AM when Pogba can't do the job of breaking down the defence by himself

He's not the type of player to break down a bus. His movement, like Lingard, can break down a defense. His passing in the final phases of the attack are good/smart, but he's not like Pogba where he'll unlock a defense with one deft touch out of nothing. He won't direct a play like Pogba, he'll be the beneficiary then be part of the final outcome.

I agree he's a direct replacement for Mata as his movement amongst Rashford and Martial would be fun. Just can't place everything on him at the moment at a big club, needs time to settle. So having Lingard, Lukaku and Sanchez would be nice.

Love him, would think he'd come to us at the right price, and if Ole is in charge he fits the profile of what we our recruitment strategy would be I think. Also won Welsh player of the year over Gareth Bale

Because Maddison is a 10, can't see him starting for a big team unless he becomes a better player defensively or deeper in midfield, though maybe Rodgers will move to more of a 4-3-3 and he'll be solid there.

Brooks, though, yeah. Arsenal, us or Chelsea (Hudson-Odoi or Hazard the LW) could use a RW pretty badly going forward.

Maddison is playing CM atm to get Harvey Barnes in the team too

Isn't he still playing as a 8/10 with Tielemans deeper, sorta like Pogba does with Herrera across in theory but actually deeper in practice?

Don't understand why we aren't linked with him if the Sancho interest has flattened. Him and James would be good additions to the wings, not exactly marquee signings but level headed players with minimal hype who can grow.
