David Beckham, the most unlikely return in history?

Would love to see him back. If Scholes and Giggs are still in the running why not him?

exactly my thinking, can see SAF thinking of it like that as well, adding another experienced midfielder to his options, he can still nail a cross as good as anyone and stuff so I don't see why not tbh!

Dont rule out Scholes, Giggs and Beckham as our starting 3 man midfield. You know Sir Alex wants to do it

I would be ecstatic, even if he played just a minute or two. One of my favourite United players of all time!

Giggs Scholes Carrick Beckham

ha ha. As if we're not slow enough in midfield already :)

Seriously though, I've always said with Becks, I'd take him back for a short stint just to galvanise the club, he wouldn't have to play too often. Although, right now I reckon he'd do a better job than any of our wingers. If we had Becks in our squad next weekend, I'd be playing him on the right.

I'd give him a short-term contract and let him see out the remainder of his career here, we've always been his true club.

We could do with his crosses and dead ball delivery too.

If we drop giggs and play beckham, it lowers the age of our midfield. It's on!

this would be like winning a trophy if we signed him for a 6month deal with a view for a 1 year extension.

w've already won a trohpy by selling berbatov....comeone fergie, make it a double.

I would not be in favour of this.

Besides he is going to bring football to Australia….apparently

No thank you. I'd have loved it if our midfield was fine, but under current circumstances, it would be a slap in the face.

If anything that would be the reason why we wouldn't want to sign him. We already have experienced midfielders.

And RvP! It's not only crosses, he's lethal with any kind of balls, RvP's movement would thrive on it.

Since I read he's leaving LA Galaxy, I'm secretly hoping he'll come back here, knowing it's just fuelled by nostalgia and my love of the player, and it has 99% chances of not happening. But I'm a dreamer, so I'll carry on dreaming.

The masochist in me says "Why not?" I mean, who doesn't want to see a midfield three of Beckham, Scholes and Giggs? Keano looks like he's still in good shape in his pundit chair, why don't we coax him out of retirement too? Imagine that, Giggs-Scholes-Keane-Beckham.

Okay, ignoring the fact that most of you are joking.

I'm tempted to say he'd do a better job in CM currently than both Giggs and Scholes.

Oh no I didn't.

He might go to PSG

yeah. Cant see Posh liking life in Shanghai, Beijing or Sydney.

I'd imagine a 6 months or so in Paris, with his family relocating permanently to Beck Palace, with him commuting between the 2 cities.

To be honest, despite my ambivalence towards him, I wouldn't mind having him back at Old Trafford, but he simply is not good enough.

With the level of unacceptable vitriol directed at Scholes and Giggs, I just don't see how he would ever get any games.

I'm sure that in 45 minutes on the right he'd put in more good crosses than the rest of our wingers combined this season

Not in a million years with twice as many sundays and more moons than usual is there any chance whatsoever of this even half nearly The Mirror rumour page slightly anywhere near being considered to even happen a bit.

Take that as a maybe.

Most likely he'll go to PSG if they want him. Didn't Ancelotti manage him when he was with Milan?

I hope when Becks retires, we make him an ambassador of the club and use his profile to get even more commercial deals.
