He’s Liverpool’s Bruno.
His xG is higher than HaalandsHe is scoring a bit now but every time I’ve watched him I’ve been laughing. Someone above said he has low xg or whatever that means but by god has he missed some sitters. I can think of 4 or 5 off the top of my head. Obviously shows xg to be a bit inaccurate compared to the eye.
On the ball he’s shite. Lukaku comparisons are fair.
They can count themselves lucky if he ends up half as goodHe’s Liverpool’s Bruno.
Does that mean that he has had a lot of good chances so but missed them? His xG is higher than Haalands
It means that he's a worse finisher, at least without any context and on the face of itDoes that mean that he has had a lot of good chances so but missed them?
Ok, yeah, that’s what I meant initially. Yeah, he’s shite. It means that he's a worse finisher, at least without any context and on the face of it
He‘s leading the team in goals per minutes. He is a big downgrade on Mane, he has scored goals probably at the same rate Origi did for them.
Says a lot about Liverpool this season, doesn't it?He‘s leading the team in goals per minutes.

I noticed that too, he looked like a Sunday league player on both of those occasions. Even Firmino turned around holding his hands out nonplussed that Nuñez had managed to miss what had been served up to him on a plateHe's clearly dangerous and able to get into good positions with his aggressive running style and work-rate but boy does he need to work on his technique, looked like an absolute donkey yesterday missing that sitter (again) and trying to curl in that cross that turned into a shot.

Didn't seem like he quite knew which way he was heading the ball for his goal as well.....
Thing is..... that's the third time I've seen him score with a header that didn't look quite right. Which makes me think that if Núñez doesn't know where the ball is going the goalies have absolutely no fekkin clue whatsoever, and if it's on target then that's fekkin that.
As an interesting parallel I've seen him hit some amazing strikes that have hit the post or bar or been saved brilliantly by the keeper.
It's like he's a complete Jekyll and Hyde character, at his most effective when he's at his least aethestically pleasing.
Comparisons to Lukaku are way off the mark in my opinion. Núñez runs for fun and works his socks off. And just check out the run he made which drew off a defender leaving Salah in on goal against Ajax before saying he's no use to Liverpool off the ball.
Conversely , I think he may become less effective in some areas as his football technique improves, and it's hard to imagine it won't at Pool under Klopp.
One thing that really caught my eye watching that game though was his speed. At one point it was like he was running and all around him on both sides were jogging.....and although he can look like a donkey on the ball he actually runs like a pure thoroughbred.
He's an enigma.
Be interesting watching him evolve
WDYM, his headings were clearly intentional.I noticed that too, he looked like a Sunday league player on both of those occasions. Even Firmino turned around holding his hands out nonplussed that Nuñez had managed to miss what had been served up to him on a plate

It seems like a somewhat lazy comparison because they're both Uruguayan but he really does remind me of a younger Cavani.
The work-rate, the propensity to run hard in the channels, the explosive off-the-ball runs looking to get in behind, and similar stature in terms of their tall but lean build that makes/made each of them both powerful but quick at the same time.
Maybe I'm misremembering completely, but I seem to remember Cavani being the butt of a few jokes because of his sometimes abysmal finishing when he was at Palermo. But you could clearly see the potential as he could produce some fantastic goals as well at the same time, and then when he moved to Napoli he seemed to become a much more consistent finisher and turned from a guy you would consider dangerous/a handful because of his traits, into a truly prolific goalscorer and one of the best CF's in the world.
I feel like Nunez is in the same boat - sometimes his finishing is comical, but his peak performances (i.e. both games v Liverpool in the CL last year, particularly the 2nd leg) are at a level where I think you can clearly see a pathway for him to get there as well, he just needs to finish more consistently.
I don't know what it is necessarily that's causing the problem but it's potentially a lack of focus/being too casual. Sometimes he misses these sitters and he just stares blankly and doesn't react, where you might expect somebody who's more focused on the outcome (i.e. Ronaldo if we're talking the extreme example) to be livid with themselves if they missed an open goal from 6 yards out.
Which is why you should just watch football and decide for yourself instead of looking at made up numbers on a computer. His xG is higher than Haalands
I like him. Would have loved him at United

He’s Liverpool’s Bruno.
He will be like Berbatov was for Utd. His goals will come in patches and make his stats look better than they actually are.
I’ve loved him since day 1. As have many United fans. He's grown on me. I now love his chaos (as long as there is nearly always an end result). I can't believe I'm actually going to be sad when he becomes a run of the mill 25-30 goals a season striker with decent technique and 'nothing else'.
So that he can score again? He's got four in his last five starts.I’ve loved him since day 1. As have many United fans.
Hope he starts tomorrow.

Ronaldo tends to score too. He has 3 in whatever few starts he stormed off about last week.So that he can score again? He's got four in his last five starts.
Two of the most bizarre comparisons I’ve seen on the Caf
not really. Most fans of other clubs think Bruno isn’t great, but there are many united fans who put up with all his blunders and mishaps because of the statistical return and work ethic.

So the where are the similarities then? That they both aren’t great? Weird.
So Leeds will definitely get at least a point from tomorrow's game then? You're absolutely sure of it?Ronaldo tends to score too. He has 3 in whatever few starts he stormed off about last week.
It’s the chances he misses that costs you in the league that I absolutely love. End to end game v Leeds who will get 2/3 chances to get in behind Trent because Nunez won’t punish them when they should has my Saturday night sorted.
Not just the chances but the play that repeatedly falls down through the middle because he has the technique of a Zebra. Another plus there’s no threat through the middle because of your midfield and Nunez which means all opposition do is crowd the wings, press Nunez passing options then have Liverpool fans wonder how why they get in behind your fullbacks time and time again because they have to do so much going forward.
It’ll be put down to Klopps seven season curse or poor midfield recruitment. I really love Nunez. It’s the pretending not to know the problem that’s staring fans right in the face that gets me going.
Not that farfetched. He's currently level on 6 with Rashford and Martial is fairly injury prone. Doesn't look like Ronaldo is getting many this season either. Depends how both teams get on after the world cup.Wouldn’t be surprised if he gets more goals than any of our players this season.

I'm not ready for that experience.i reckon they’ll score so many goals that the fa will be forced to award them 5 points.

He’s still worth nowhere near 100m
I think they’ll give you too much trouble than they should. You might get by today but Spurs front 3 would punish you next week as all teams who you have played away have this season. You aren’t a bad team which is why you aren’t going to lose every game by being exposed but the worst that can come of it is inconsistency which you have in spades. So Leeds will definitely get at least a point from tomorrow's game then? You're absolutely sure of it?
Exactly. But a Berbatov would be near perfect for ETH.He’s literally everything Ten Hag would not want in a forward.
Rooney. A young Rooney in his hands and we’re winning the league imoExactly. But a Berbatov would be near perfect for ETH.
