What does made stuff happen even mean though? He got acres of space to work with that any attacker would salivate for, and then fecks up 2 comically easy chances and arguably a third (the cross toTrent was over hit, but at least it was a decent try). Him making runs is “making stuff happen”? Put any solid attacker (or Diaz if he was fit) in those situations and Liverpool wins 3/4-0
I know it’s en Vogue to slaughter him, and I thought he looked shocking in highlights for the touted fee when we were linked, but it’s painfully obvious that he’s absolutely desperate to impress, which is destroying any semblance of the game he actually has and replacing it with someone who looks completely lost.

Yet to see, maybe his scoring rate will drop a little without Kev but I think it will either way. He won't score in every game obviously and you are still on your day the best/second best team in the league, the game was an incredibly tight affair and unfortunately only Salah (and fortunately Nunez) were the only ones to find themselves in any sort of space. I'm not worried at all, on another day he could easily have had 3, he's just that type of player (as is Salah to be fair)
I have noticed he releases the ball very quickly when he drops deep though which might be instructions from Pep, which can be effective but sometimes I wish he tried to use his brute force and go on runs with the ball from the deep which I have seen him do for the national team and Dortmund. His handling of the ball is far from spectacular but it is also incredibly underrated. I'd also like him to shoot from diatance more. I wonder if he will get more freedom in that regard in the future.
Anyway back to Nunez, may he stink out the centre forward position for you and push Salah out wide forevermore

I do believe Liverpool overpaid and he's a mess technically etc but he's definitely not as bad as his recent performances are suggesting.
I've also seen Mane, Firmino and Salah screw up 3 on 1 breaks (or Ignoring players in better positions) because they were desperate for a goal over the years so it's not an alien concept or incident in their dressing room.

Sorry, you're looking for me ro explain 'made stuff happen'? I'm not excusing his poor decision making in the situations he got himself in, just saying he shook things up, rattled them a bit, offered something different etc. Not a controversial view, I don't think.
His chip 1 v 1 against the keeper was brilliant. He looked like a scene from Ace Ventura.
I don't know if its just the fact i like those fast and agressive strikers, or if i just went crazy, but i think he played well all those games, appart from some comical moments that are part of the package apparently.

He's barely played, so that stat doesn't mean an awful lot.
His xg is what he should be scoring given he was in position to score. His actual scoring is far lower.

You definitely could, but I personally think it's a good sign. Not so much from the XG stat, but just the eye test and how even in cameos he's been able to get into positions and shown a real threat. There's no doubting the guy is a donkey, but he's adapting to a new league and a new team, and while he's been snatching at chances I think that facet of his game will settle down and he'll become a fairly consistent scorer with very apparent deficiencies to his game.
That applies both ways, whether you think he'll be fine or if he is a donkey.
As has been discussed elsewhere the greatest goalscorer have high xG and their goals are at the same rate. Overachieving xG is rare, except for Messi. So as long as your xG is high, meaning you are getting chances, odds are you'll be fine in the long run. Particularly for Nunez whose weaknesses lie elsewhere and not finishing.
Except finishing is a weakness for him. He's quite average for a striker and has poor technique. Many detractors that had watched him pre-transfer said last season was a bit of an aberration with his goal numbers.

I have been watching him for a few years in CONCACAF. He has always been this way. Flys all over the field and gets behind the line but does not score a lot of goals. I thought when Liverpool went for him that maybe he was different than when he plays for his country? Looks to be the same guy.
All this confirms is he is shit at finishing. Heskey would probably have had similar stats.

Yeah that was mostly the concern everyone had with him when we were heavily linked. Wasn't as much the technical limitations (you can get past that) as every Benfica fan saying he hit a monster purple patch that last season for them. At a certain point you kind of need to have something in your locker besides solid pace and an engine as a forward. Even Lukaku for all his faults has a fantastic left peg.
