Bookies have Littler smashing him understandably. MVG will need to get off to a fast start.
Stats wise Littler is the fav, but MVG has been doing it at the right moments, has the experience, and will be extra motivated to beet the upstart. I think if MVG can up his scoring a fraction he definitely stands a good chance. But generally he doesn’t score as heavily as he used to.
MvG is good at matching his opponent (and often just being slightly better and enough to win). He was lucky against Rydz to an extent but as you say he is about timing and moments.
What MVG has is amazing bottle, and I think people playing Littler struggle because the pressure he puts you under, MVG won’t fall for that.

As someone that knows absolutely nothing about darts, being in right state of mind makes all the difference when the margins are as thin as they are in darts. When he gets in his flow he’s unreal. I’m always amazed at just how tightly bunched his 180s are. Just think at this moment MVG is much stronger mentally and that could make the difference.
