Darmian / Signs permanent deal for Parma

This awful saga has been running since the summer, hope he leaves. Best for everyone, going to be a long summer getting rid of dead wood fc. What annoys me is Liverpool can get 19m for Solanke, and we can't give an Italian international away. Not asking for huge money, must have big wages. Need to get it going Rojo, Valencia, Young, The tree, Calamity Jones ect... The clear out must happen.

And if the club were to have given him (an Italian international with interest from the Italian champions, by the way) away for free then you’d be in here boring the tits off everybody because you believe the club should be getting “a proper fee” for him. Just like Liverpool and Chelsea, or something...

He'll just rot here, taking up space and wages, perhaps if we played him consistently or he actually showed anything but being average he might be worth the money we are asking, but lets be honest, he really isn't, especially not for a 1mill a month loan.

Actually no, i'm all for getting rid of deadwood players by any means necessary, I'm not expecting fees for the likes of Ashley Young, Valencia etc and Darmian fits into this bracket because we've barely played the guy and when we have he's been crap, Italian international or not.

You have to know when to cut your losses on a player. The club can place whatever valuation they want on a player, but a player is only ever worth what another club is willing to pay for them. It seems with Dariman no club will pay what United think he's worth, so the club need to either lower their demands or continue to pay his wages to sit in the stands for the next 6-18 months.
 
Ridiculous. When will we get that the guy is dogshite and no one is interested in paying much for him? The fact someone is interested in him is a near miracle to start with.

Anyone defending our stance here needs to remember the guy is stealing a living here currently playing no games and getting his salary per week. He has no problem with this kind of life. We're the only ones losing by keeping a player in such state, doesn't play but cost the club his salary per week.

Just feck him off for any price and remove him from our wage bill.
 
I think the issue is that they wanted a 30/70% fee ratio - 30% for the loan and 70% to confirm the transfer. We called them on it and asked for 50/50. If they wanted the player they'd pay it. Otherwise they are just looking for the loan.
 
I'd also add that the team's we are negotiating with are the same teams who would take us to the cleaners for any one of their players.

The games come thick and fast from February, we need options in case of injuries and suspensions and rotations and he can still come in handy those times as a versatile player. It only makes sense to let him go now if the price is right. He certainly has better deliveries than Valencia as well.

He's an Italian international at a decent age. I don't know what kind of business some of you run. Any self respecting businessman would not give that kind of player with 18 months left for free.
Juve want to eat their cake and have it. They are only interested in the loan, can't you people see that? We are still asking for the same overall price but they only want to commit €2m. That's pisstake.
This is a club that's paying Ronaldo nearly €50m a season and made us pay €110m for Pogba.
 
I can kind of understand what some people are saying, but I think the club is right on this one.

We want an agreement that's best for everyone and we're not asking a ridiculous sum. 12million Euros, surely he's worth that to Juventus?

The reason I think the club is right is that it's January. We're making a top four push, we're going to be gunning for the FA Cup and we want to try and make an impact in the Champion's League. Why would we let any players go right now if we don't think we're getting a good enough deal? Juventus should take it as they're getting the extra half a season for him to settle in and allow them to rest defenders more easily before big UCL games. If this doesn't end up finding a way through next week then I still think something will go down in the Summer. The club won't let him go for free. I think the only player at risk of leaving for nothing is Phil Jones, but even then I expect him to be (wrongly) given a new contract.

Just remember that those bellends were using Di Marzio's name on the end of their tweets all summer and it turned out he hadn't said most of the bollocks they were spouting.

Also, Juventus are skint, they have to offload Higuian or another big name to be able to afford to keep Ronaldo next season. They won't be interested in paying any more than they absolutely have to this window.
 
Feel as sorry as you can for a very well paid footballer who is already at a top side. Seems a shame we won't just let the bloke go and play football, he's tried when he's played for us and doesn't seem like he's kicked up a fuss. Squabbling over a few mil when we're Man Utd is a bit silly.

Not that I actually want him to leave in this window as I feel we might need him due to our injury record.
 
No one smart is going to pay 6m for a 6 month loan deal of Darmian. He's bobbins.
 
We should avoid selling to Juve.

How can €12m euros be too expensive for an Italian international, this is not the 80's ffs
 
Juventus only want a supercheap option for 6 months because Spinazzola wants to go out on loan to play. They have zero interest in taking darmian permanently right now and were only interested because they thought he'd be cheap enough

The only real reason italian clubs still have any interest in him is because he's italian and they thought he could be cheap. You're proving that's not the case, and so they drop the interest.
 
We are only going off rumours, but I don't blame United for taking this stance.

If Juve want him, they can do it on a staged payment basis. A few million now, the rest over the next season. As other posters have highlighted, only offering a token amount now suggests they are unwilling to commit to a long term deal.

Don't mind loans for young players, in an emergency situation, or as a trial for sicknotes, but there are too many deals going on for my liking

We have an option on his contract which we will most likely take up.

How is €12m expensive? By virtue that he's going into Juve's first team and not 300 years old, he's already worth that much.
 
If we give in, it will set a precedent. Juve can feck off.

He's barely played in the last 3 years, is bang average in general, and his contract is running down. He's a stop gap, or a backup option. No italian club will pay 12m for an average backup FB. Italian clubs don't have the money of the PL. Every deal they make matters

Juventus do have the money. They are just trying to drive a hard bargain as per usual. I am quite happy that United are refusing to be taken to the cleaners.

You also need to know when you're being taken for a ride else they will keep coming for more. 6m loan + a 6m option to buy is fair. We're talking about an Italian international who can cover both LB and RB here not some 35 year old player.

Juventus know very well how much players are worth. In fact they ask for top money for their own players and they won't bulge a single penny.

This. It's time we ask for good value for our players when we sell. Darmian isn't even on ridiculously high wages for us to subsidise the transfer fee.

Italian clubs like Juventus are skint when trying to buy players but want top dollar for their players, so it's good that we're sticking our ground in wanting a fair deal.
