Wasn't it you who asked me how many times I'd watched James, as you'd only seen clips? To say he's nothing but speed suggests you haven't seen much of him.
So you've posted over 30 times in a thread about a player you haven't watched yourself? Weird but fair enough. This is based on the posts ive seen on Swansea forums by Swansea fans who watch him week in week out, some that i've shared on this thread in case you've missed them
Agree totally, I think it's a genius signing.
Fans are obsessed with comparisons, but it doesn't really matter what or where Ronaldo, Pele, Bale, Zaha etc had done anything by whatever age.
Football doesn't work like that. Each player is an individual, and who is to say he won't end up being a smarter buy than someone like Sancho for 8 or 9 times the price!

Talk about jumping the gun. Can you see into the future? We won't know that until he kicks a ball a few times in a red shirt. It could end up being a masterstroke or a colossal disaster
Doesn't really mean anything to be honest. Completely different players and all players develop differently.Zaha dominated the Championship in a way this kid did not.
Sancho is still available. It will just cost us though.21 year old coming from the championship won't be coming in straight away to fill that role. He will be competition for either side.
We'll sign another winger.

To make shy of 40 posts about a player you've never watched, whilst also describing what he's like as a player is a little bit funny. So im not allowed to post because I haven't watched him? Most posting here haven't watched him either. Senseless post
Haha, maybe a little strong, but very little risk.
Fergie went through a period of signing random players seemingly based on physical attributes, and hoping to make them into footballers, like Bebe, Dong, Diouf etc. This guy looks more of a player and one to build on.
He'll be hungry too, which is just what we need.

Very little risk indeed from the financial side but it will be a bigger risk if he's expected to jump in the starting 11 and make an immediate impact. I just hope the club still plans on signing an accomplished winger as well
Im making educated guesses based on the clips ive seen and what people who watch him have to say. I'll post as much as I want in this thread, thanks.
colossal disaster
Not really educated if you haven't seen him play.Im making educated guesses based on the clips ive seen and what people who watch him have to say. I'll post as much as I want in this thread, thanks.
Probably!David Ornstein is deluded then is he?
Fergie was signing from a position of strength, as we had quality players so could afford to take punts. That's definitely not the case right now. We need to make every signing count this summer, so scrutinising players we're linked with seems totally reasonable to me.Haha, maybe a little strong, but very little risk.

Not sure Chelsea / Spurs / Arsenal are that far away from us TBH. Couple of results our way would've done it for us this season. Whoever has the better transfer window this season will get top four next year. We're still miles away from City and Pool though.I believe this is exactly the type of signing we need to make...a young, fast, hungry winger that can take us from the dizzying heights of 6th to 6th.
Bring it on.
Have you ever known a team that openly state they're selling one of their top talents, whilst in a title race? Of course they'll say he's not for sale, it doesn't mean he's not though, money talks.Probably!
Dortmund have repeatedly said they’re not selling yet some Caf posters still going on about it like it’s a realistic option

Low risk, high reward.
Appears he was but us being a ducking disgraceful shit show in the last 12 games was enough for him to change his mind. Can't blame him, I wouldn't run into a burning building to save any of these cnuts either.Only the deluded believe that Sancho was ever an option
I've watched lots of videos on him since we were linked and all I see is speed, no guile or skill or craft, just a blunt instrument, and he isn't that young that you'd say he was a raw kid, he's as old as Rashford who is as frustrating as feck and has been playing at a higher level for his whole career. This is the kind of punt I could get behind if we were in City or Liverpool's position, but we are so far behind and this kind of buy will do absolutely nothing to bridge the gap, I'd be surprised if he was good enough to start for any team aiming for the top 7 right now.
Except there's no guarantee of high rewards even with the low risk. Colossal disaster maybe is too much, but if he's thrown into the starting 11 and flops he'll be turned on quickly on here and thoughts on his signing will be revised. Players like Bebe and Obertan represented smaller risks because they were eased into the team but it was evident early on that they wouldn't make it. My fear is this player is almost 22, he's going to be given more responsibility so it will be hit or miss and no in between here because that's how it goes.
Agree, what happened when these legends weren't around to be compared to there was no comparisons. Will be very happy to see him come in, have thought about it when he ran the length of the pitch and scored that goal.Agree totally, I think it's a genius signing.

Many wingers have made a career of being faster than their fullback and putting in crosses.I've watched lots of videos on him since we were linked and all I see is speed, no guile or skill or craft, just a blunt instrument, and he isn't that young that you'd say he was a raw kid, he's as old as Rashford who is as frustrating as feck and has been playing at a higher level for his whole career. His dribbling looks fine especially for the speed he runs at. I don’t expect him to be an immediate starter either, probably an impact sub / rotation at first.
He was my favourite player back in the day, loved watching him. He could finish too!Kanchelskis was not a very technical player - he was just so fast he was unstoppable. He simply kicked the ball past the player, and ran.
He will come in, provide different dimention and competition, is direct, fast and counter attacking with an eye for a cross. Cheap in current market. At 15 it's a no brainer.
Yeah, I totally agree about that. Making quick, decisive moves in the market would make us look like we have a clue. Which would be a refreshing change.Yep, that is a good point. But I always prefer it when our interest is totally secret and we just pounce early doors like this, rather than the long sagas.
Those long sagas usually end in disappointment.
If we suddenly hear we're close to buying someone like Wan Bissaka, I'll start thinking there IS an actual sensible plan in the background this year.
Just a question - is this dimension, which I think we do have as is in Rashford, any less barbaric than throwing on Fellaini ever was?
Always thought it a little odd to say one was wrong or better versus the other.
