I believe Welsh players are automatically considered homegrown, so yes. Spent all his youth time at Hull and Swansea, so shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, English or Welsh, presumably because the likes of Cardiff and Swansea play in the English leagues. Not Scottish or Irish though.
He is 20, he can still improve massively in terms od goal threat and decision making. For 15m, dont see how anyone can complain. Pace and talent down the wing is always a useful option. He wont be our only attacking signing hopefully.

Thanks, that's good to hear. I hope we sign him and Godfrey to groom into a top class DM. Both are young and homegrown, with energy and pace. Throw in De Ligt, Dybala, Meunier and Fernandes, and we should have a great young side in our hands.
I'd be so excited if we sign this lad. He's a great talent and has the attributes to be a top class winger. Ridiculously quick, direct and skilful. I've only seen him on the left. Can he play on the right, too?
You mentioned a load of squad players/misses/sold for not much after not realising early promise, proving that taking punts on youth has rarely, if ever, worked out. One of the best ones on your list is Smalling, but everyone (alright not everyone, I still like him) seems to hate him now.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Martial is incredibly talented. He does need to improve if he wants to make it here but sometimes sheer hardwork actually doesn't beat natural talent.
It shouldn't. But it should make the talented ones work harder. No point being talented and a Milner type takes your place in the team because he works harder.

I can see why he's apparently been the reason for quite a few yellow and red cards this season. Those fouls at 0:12 and 1:02 particularly ... either you hack him down or he's GONE. Some people stop when they feel they’re better than most at a certain thing, this is where coaching and pushing a player to develop comes into play, and the work only gets harder at this level. You have to want to do it.
Unreal pace but yet to see a proper vid of his technical skills and passing etc. So will not pass judgement just yet. Hoping he’s not just a pace merchant as that would be another sign that we are not thinking properly when it comes to recruitment. Normally you’d just take anyone United sign and be excited but in recent years - rather just see them in action properly before jizzing.

You have no idea how long I followed United to make such a comment. I’m more concerned why we are buying a LW when we have more than enough cover on that wing, It’s the other wing we need a player as we don’t have a RW. However promising James is I’d rather buy someone we actually require. Look how the Dalot signing has turned out and he cost £20m, it will be the same thing, he’s need 2 years before he will even play regularly, we need better first 11 players now.
It’s all well and good buying young players but surely we should be after the Tielemans of this world, young with experience at a high level, in a position we need, who can start straight away. Not some 21 year old, with no Premier League experience in a position we already have Martial and Rashford for that position. So two players that are 22/23 years old next season.

What cover do we have on the LW? Martial is wank and overrated, Sanchez is done and Rashford is a striker we force-fit on the wing.
Our left flank is as wank as our right. The threat from our left flank almost always comes from Shaw and Pogba combining there, with our LW usually adding zero to our play.
I wanted a young LW who could give competition for Martial (who deserves one last chance to prove himself) in addition to a RW. This kid seems he can make Martial nervous and would be a shrewd buy for the price. It also doesn't mean we won't sign a RW.
