I still think we need a RW, but he has really surpassed my expectations his determination and work rate is world class.
Has to be up there for YPOTY
To come to United from Swansea and make the impact he has so soon, brilliant. Total credit to him.
He was on my summer wishlist but there were quite a few doubters who didn’t think a championship playerwould be good enough, he’s only a pace merchant etc.
Have you all changed your opinions now?
Or maybe James should try to start picking his spot and players. By now he should know that neither are the type to be lounging in those near post crosses so I would like for him to pick his guy when he has time. There was one cross in the game where James had ample time to pick his player but choose to just put it in in the box almost blindly. He does put in juicy crosses sometimes but it'd be better if he started picking his guy first rather than just crossing in dangerous areas. His 2 assists from crosses came when he saw Rashford first then picked him, rather than just a cross into a dangerous area.I don't understand why they don't expect it to come in when he does it pretty much every game? Martial is almost always behind the cross and Rashford is usually nowhere to be found either.
Same here. I thought he was just a pace merchant and that he might struggle technically. As it happens he's been great. Tenacious, threatening, technically good. He's been a very good signing.I said in the summer, James won't be 'one for the future', by Christmas he'll made the starting lineup regularly. He's surpassed my expectations, it took him like 2 weeks to make that position his own. Love his attitude and work ethic, a real grafter which is rare to see in an attacker.

Also Martial is also more unlikely to be at the end of most of James crosses because he drops into midfield and generally start those moves which lead James in those crossing positions. Not to mention it seems like Martial prefers the cut back(which i find clever because defenders usually and instinctively rush back toward their goal and players who hold their runs a bit find themselves in acres of spaces unmarked).
He's basically Ole's version of Park.

Unless you’re BellionPace is a dangerous weapon on the pitch. People shouldn't discount the advantage it gives.
Favourite player in the squad. A shame his career probably won't be long-lived. How long can he maintain that explosiveness? Attrition and injury risks can't be neglected.
That's a very back to front way of looking at it. When James is fizzing in crosses across the 6 yard box that leaves the keeper and the defenders utterly stranded we should be looking to capitalise on that, not remove it from our game because the strikers aren't getting themselves in the right positions to finish it. There's absolutely no reason why one striker can't be making that run while the other gives the option from the cut back.Or maybe James should try to start picking his spot and players. I think we're going overboard now. He's a good player. I wouldn't consider him a nailed in starter material for a top aide. I'd definitely start Messi or even Sancho over. For me he's a good player who I'm very happy to have part of our main 5 options in attack. You know what excites me about this guy? I really dont think there is any player in the world we can buy that is considered an upgrade and can do what he does consistently. Whether it be sancho or ousmane dembele, we would be sacrificing more defensive work and energy for creativity. Is the creativity worth it is the question? If we inject more creativity in other sides of the pitch I actually believe he is first team material right now. I also feel we dont know the extent of his creativity because we dont have all pieces of our attack figured out. I need to see how better he becomes when we have a more creative player like pogba playing further up closer to him.
I also think we should start looking more at the championship for more players like Dan James. he has changed my perspective on the level of quality we can expect to uncover if we are willing to take the risk. The amount of money we would save should be nice.
Why include messi when there is never a chance we get him unless he is still playing by 40 and woodward does his thing? Also he is a defensive winger so Im sure there are important parts of his game that even Sancho cant replicate like his energy and speed. Sancho is also fast but not Vardy/agbonlahor fast were there is no other option but to hope. Do you know any other defensive winger currently that can do what he does better? If so please list them.I think we're going overboard now. He's a good player. I wouldn't consider him a nailed in starter material for a top aide. I'd definitely start Messi or even Sancho over. Solskajaer said this too but I'm not sure I agree. Kuyt and Park are people I'd consider defensive wingers. Whilst James is very disciplined with his tracking back, he seems to be just as effective creating chances. I think it's a bit of a disservice to label him a defensive winger. Why include messi when there is never a chance we get him unless he is still playing by 40 and woodward does his thing? I think James has goals in him but it's just that bit harder to score playing from the right with him being right footed. He's been mostly tasked to keep with on that right side which makes it harder for a right footed player to scoreIf he adds goals to his game he could be an elite winger.

Maybe mind games from OGS? To light an even bigger fire in him and to prove him wrong?Solskajaer said this too but I'm not sure I agree. Kuyt and Park are people I'd consider defensive wingers.
