Both played well. Bale looked back to his sharpest best.
James should have got a couple of assists, he looks a different level of a player compared to a few months ago.

With Rashford on the end of it it’s almost useless crossing the ball.
It's not just Rashford but the one thing I was most worried about our strikers this season is none of them are good in the air .
What's the point of fast wingers breaking free and crossing the ball if the players in the middle are poor at heading the ball ?
How many crosses did James put in that were meant to be headed on vs Southampton? I can think of 1 which was off side. The majority were mid height at max and just needed a touch towards goal. You don't need to be good in the air for that. City for example cross probably more than anyone in the league but it's almost never at head height.
Quality performance tonight. Final ball was class. He’s way more skilful than people give him credit for. So much more to his game than pace.

He has looked so much better. Maybe the goals for United have really helped his confidence and he is starting to realize his true potential. Surely looks like a PL player.

Knowing our bad luck, he'd probably get a stupid injury during international break and have his form out of the window. We then scratch our heads for the rest of the season wondering what went wrong...

Put in a good performance and crossing was good. They should have made more of one particular cross which 3 of them missed.

Funny how people interpret games, I read an ratings article where they gave Bale an 8 and James 6 , I guess a goal scorer gets the plaudits.
Personally I expected a lot more of Bale judging from last night I’m glad we didn’t sign him , James was good and the crowd got a lot more excited when he got on the ball than Bale.
He Played both flanks James was left and swapped with bale to the right towards the end.
His crossing off his left leg needs a bit of work he hit the crowd in the 2nd half with one but in general he played well.

You'd think Swansea played in the conference the way they went on.
He really is looking like a great buy. I'm really looking forward to watching him next game, I can't say that for many players in our squad.
