Dani Alves | PSG Player

As he's a cnut like most of the current Brazilian players (unless they play for you). Still the best right back in history and magnificent how at his age can still play at such high level in a position all about loads of running and intensity.

Biggest cnut out of the lot.

Doing kick ups and no look passes. Tosspot.

He is a fecking wanker.. but.. as good as Cafu for me... feck as good as I've seen. Feel free to correct me.

Can't stand him. Ego the size of a train, he was part of the reason why PSG went out. Unprofessional, thought the game was won and started doing party tricks.

It's amazing that at the end of his career, he is still better than 99% of players.

As a player he is one of the best right backs ever for me. But he was very disrespectful and lacks class.

Certainly as good IMO, and I'd probably take peak Alves over peak Cafu if I absolutely had to pick one.

The psychological aspect of showboating worked for them last time because we weren't ready for it, frustrated and got lost in realism. This time around we were prepared and knew what they were going to do. Alves mentality as a leader for that team hurt them when you see him showboating it only made them complacent, it didn't make us unfocused. Totally backfired. Truly a great player. Buffon and this guy has seen their last CL titles, cocky bastards, pass the torch.

Caught him in his last several years only. Still think Alves makes a pretty strong candidate for being the best RB in history and it's not a stretch imo. His career is magnificent, will probably end up as the most decorated player in history when it comes to trophies and he's still playing in top level football by his 36 in a position that needs loads of efforts and work and performs regularly . Unreal.

His only regret will probably be not winning world cup though
.

As I've said before for a player of his calibre his Brazil career was pretty unfulfilled, little bit similar to Marcelo perhaps.

He was not called to Brazil in 2006 despite being in amazing form for Sevilla that year (nearly signed for Liverpool over that summer). They called Cafu who was 36 at the time and Cinchino as back up (Real Madrid).

2010 he really should've started given how crucial he was at Barca but Maicon had that amazing season at Inter and was chosen instead. Talk that Alves would fill in at left back but Bastos of Lyon played there.

2014 he did start as first choice but lost his place after the groups and was on the bench for the 7-1. Ironically Maicon came back in to replace him and he was way past his best (had that poor season at Man. City).

2018 he was probably starting so got injured so missed the tournament.

Really he's only been crucial for Brazil in 2007 copa America and one of the Confed cups a few years later (might've been 2009).

Club form no debate, a great great player who I'd love to have seen in the prem at his peak or close to it.

He is still a class act. Legs obviously not what they used to be, but still makes the game look easy at times.

Agree. His national career will be a regret but tbf I think many of the current top players have the same problems with their national career not a match for their club one. Back in the old day national teams tournaments were the biggest stage for evaluating players. Today it is mostly the clubs stage.

This. He is a brilliant player and there's no doubt he's one of the best RBs around in last decades, but to some extent he cost them yesterday. You never know, if it wasn't for his recklessness maybe they would've scored another one. If it wasn't for his fight with Thiago Silva, maybe they would've been calmer.

Keppy uppies and no look passes and now out of the Cl.
Their entitlement issues is a wonder to behold.

If anything, this is a good example of Brazil's bizarre selection strategies over the years.

A 34 year old professional footballer juggling the ball and showing off with over an hour to play and his team leading by only 2 goals. Being a great player has a lot to do with attitude and he is simply a prick. Can't compare to the other great right backs being mentioned in this thread.

Absolute cnut but one of the greatest of all time in his position (if not the greatest).

He's 36 in 2 months and still better than most fullbacks AND wingers ffs...

Easy to look good when you've got a little Argentinian fellow to link up with as you attack.

He was a great player but Cafu was a level above.

His ball juggling nonsense inside the first 20 minutes was incredibly disrespectful. Just one of many moments that makes it even sweeter to dump those oil money bankrolled cnuts out.

The most dislikeable player in the world after Neymar, freakin cnut. Talented but a diver, I hate divers.

Came in this thread to say just this.

I don’t think that there’s much wrong with juggling and showboating personally, but once you choose to do it, you simply have to win. So yeah, he completely embarrassed himself in that case.

He still lost the ball that lead to the Dalot shot. He is still good for his age, but i think he forgets that his body isnt going to do what it did in the past all the time.

Massive arrogant prick though, also the way he dresses you can see that he is a cnut.
