Dad v Son

When I saw the title I thought this was gonna be something about Son from Spurs

Both on the bench so it could happen.

Would think it quite likely, although I suppose it might depend on the scoreline. Son is only in their matchday squad to try and make it happen, he's not normally considered good enough (yet).

27 minutes of football for them as a sub in the EFL Trophy where they rotated in early October is his entire career so far. Unused sub the next league game, not in squad at all ever since.

I'm with Darren Ferguson on this. Bollocks to sentimentality while the game was still in the balance.

You people would probably have subbed John Terry off in the 26th minute as well.

What do mean, you people?

He seems to be getting a lot of stick but the game wasn’t over at 1-0, Tyler Young has barely featured and isn’t particularly rated anyway, plus he used all the subs up on legitimate changes.

Shouldn’t have put him in the squad, he’s nowhere near the first team anyway.

Darren Ferguson has been Peterborough manager for 15 years or Darren Ferguson has had 15 different stints as Peterborough manager. Pick one.

Vince vs Shane. Was great when Linda got up out of the wheelchair to low blow Vince to help her son get the win.

Buzzing it didn’t happen. Sentimental bollocks.

Absolutely this is serious fecking business! Up their with nuclear warfare and cancer research.

Can’t have these sentimental stories get in the way of a high profile second, nay third, round of a local cup competition.

Ha! Just what I was thinking when I saw his mug on the sideline!

"It was very difficult to leave Tyler on the bench but I've got to do what I think is best for the team," said Ferguson.

"As much as I wanted Tyler to get on, if the game had been 2-0 at that point I would've put him on but at 1-0, I had to get a forward on. I've got to try and get something out of the game and do what is best for my team.

"One of their [Everton] players had a pop at me, which was bang out of order. We are not a charity case."

Eider replaced his dad Arnor for Iceland in 1996.
And they were supposed to play together in the next match against Macedonia but in the meantime Eidur broke his ankle in a match with Iceland U-19 and his dad retired from the national team the year after.
Eggert Magnusson, the president of the icelandic FA and later chairman of West Ham, ordered the manager not to play them together in that match for some reason.

I read that it was because he wanted it to happen in a home game.

Ashley Young denied the pinnacle moment of his career of facing his son(his words) ……
…….due to a manager who is the son of the manager who actually gave Ashley Young the pinnacle moment of his career. Fantastic.

This.
The OG football nepo baby didn't let a father and son have a special moment.

Shameful stuff.
And also this.
