CSKA open to Honda offers

Apparently Everton are interested. He'd be a great bit of business for them.

Are they just after him as they have that song 'Z Cars'?

No disrespect, but I think he could do better than Everton.

If the AC Milan rumors are true, then I think he will go for them, unless something better comes up.

I'd love to see him at Everton. He could be a bit-part player at a top four club, but at Everton he'd be a real tour-de-force. These are the sorts of players you want to see every week in the Premier League.

Yeah, he'd be a really important player for us and he'd let Fellaini be able to play in CM assuming he stayed. Although our muppet wet dream would be being able to sell Fellaini for £20 million (as it is looking likely he will leave in the near future), buying Honda + Fer with that money and possibly a striker too.

Most of us would love Fellaini to stay as we believe he's a class player for us but for the benefit of the squad it could be a better option to let him go.

The only thing that would worry me about the Honda signing is less game time for Barkley who has looked a class above so far in the England squad when played as an AM. I suppose it is a small price to pay if Honda came and took us to Europe.

It's not a free transfer. He still has 6 months on his contract.

He'd probably cost less than £5m now and that'd be a good deal for whoever buys him. You could also simply sign him on a pre-contract agreement and he'd move in January.

Local papers have recently linked him to Barcelona too. Not sure if there's any truth to it but would be very happy to see him in the squad...particularly if Thiago leaves

I've only been able to find Italian sources so far(which I can't read), but it seems that Milan has reached an agreement with Honda. CSKA therefore have to agree now, or he'll go to Milan for free in January.

Good move if true. I'm expecting Milan to challenge Juventus next season then.

Excellent. I've always had a soft spot for Milan, but since they had to make all those sales, and the last members of that generation retired(/pissed off to Juventus to continue to be superb :smirk:) they've just not been as entertaining to watch. Players like Honda can only improve that. Very similar to KPB, actually, but plays on the other 'side'.

Sounds like Milan are trying to sell Boateng before they make a official move for Honda.

Not right for us at least. Had a golden opportunity to turn a loss against City into a draw but failed. We don't want that kind of player.

I think it's pretty clear that he's going to Milan in January, even though nothing is official yet. Great deal for Milan, seeing as he will go there for free. He'll definitely become a sure starter for them..

I actually think he could do better than Milan, but then again it's hard to win the AM spot for the best clubs in the world right now. This really is a golden generation of attacking midfielders.

His dream has come true

By putting pen-to-paper on a three-and-a-half year deal at AC Milan this week, Keisuke Honda made his childhood dreams become reality.
At his unveiling as a Milan player, Honda stated that it was always his dream to play in Serie A.
This proved to be true, as a letter written by a young Honda in March 1999 has come to light since his Rossoneri move.
The letter is as follows:
My Dream For The Future
When I grow up, I want to be the best football player in the world. No, I will become the best.
To be the best player in the world, you have to practice harder than anyone else. That’s why I’m working hard right now.
I’m not a very good player, but I’ll work hard and absolutely become the world’s greatest. When I become the world’s best, I want to become rich and repay my parents.
I’ll become famous in the World Cup and be called to play for a Serie A team. After that I’ll become a regular and play as No.10.
I want to earn 4 billion yen a year (Around €28 million today.)
I dream that one day I’ll sign a contract with Puma and design spikes or training wear, and people around the world will go out to buy them.
Then I’ll appear in the tournament everyone in the world pays attention to every four years, the World Cup.
After playing well in Italy I’ll come back to Japan, have meetings [with the JFA], be given the No.10 shirt and become the team’s figurehead.
I want to beat Brazil 2-1 in the [World Cup] final.
My dream is to team up with my older brother, outwit the world’s strongest team, trade good passes with him, and score a goal in that game.”
Although he never got to play with his brother, they have however teamed up, with Hiroyuki Honda being the agent of his younger brother Keisuke.
