CSKA Moscow have revealed they will not stand in Keisuke Honda's way if a reasonable bid is made.

The Japan midfielder has been heavily linked to a host of top European clubs including Liverpool, Arsenal, AC Milan and Barcelona after starring in this summer's World Cup.

CSKA now appear resigned to losing their star player and are willing to let him go for the right price when the transfer window reopens.

"We do not wish to keep players against their will if they want to move on," a spokesperson for the Russian club was quoted as saying on Sankei Sports.

"We respect our players' decisions.

"We are prepared to listen to any offers provided that the price is reasonable."

Honda joined CSKA from Dutch outfit VVV Venlo in January on a four-year deal, and has blossomed into one of Europe's most coveted players.

Liverpool are believed to be in pole position to secure the services of the 24 year-old, with the club reportedly already in the process of tabling an offer.

I was impressed with him at the World Cup, how has he played for CSKA this season?

Could step his career up to another gear...

Always though he had a great engine...

His acceleration is pretty good for a model, sorry player, in his range...

OK, I'm done for now.

Perhaps we could strike an Accord with CSKA for him as a Prelude to Jazz-ing up our attack?

He could moonlight as a goalie for us. By all accounts he has excellent handling.

I doubt our association with Audi would let us go for him. Shame.

Cheltenham Red laughs in the face of impossible. Hang your head in shame, wr8.

Another transfer indicates he needs to put the brakes on, his career is accelerating too fast

A move to United would be good for his career. We've been stuck in 1st gear far too often this season. He could really fuel our season and help us step up some gears.

the OP should've been in a spoiler

he will need to work on his fitness, he always looks exhausted to me

shirt sales in japan would go through the sunroof though

He has to come here it's a Super Club and he'd be in his Element,if he was Freed he'd soon become a Legend

You never know with players like this whether or not they can find that extra gear, stick him in the Premier League though and he could turn out to be electric; windows of opportunity would open up for him immediately. Him and Anderson could turn out to be our midfield hub; caps for Japan would surely follow. Dunno if he'd work well with Fletcher, you'd think they'd fit really like a glove; box to box midfielders can get in each other's way if not utilised correctly though. That said, apparently this kid can run like the wind, screen our defence and play too on either side; skirt the touchline and make use of his good traction, control and crossing skills to get plenty of balls into the box when required.

Impretsasive :nervous:

It won't happen, there's no point getting yourselves all revved up over it.
Besides, Sky Sports news are all torque.
