Cristiano Ronaldo

If Ronaldo were to move on this season, I wonder if he'd have the Utd goal scoring record on his mind? To have that record at both Real Madrid and Manchester United would be utterly incredible, and sounds like just the thing he'd want to do.

A quick wiki says he currently has 118 for us, with Charltons record being 249 (of course Rooney may extend it a bit further, but you wouldn't think it would be much). So 131 goals. At his scoring rate at Madrid that would only take him 2 and a half seasons (how ridiculous is that). Obviously he wouldn't score at that same rate with us, but I reckon he'd fancy himself to get it within four. That would take him to 35, which is doable considering how well he looks after himself. The only potential issue is that injuries may have started creeping into his game.

Someone needs to be in his ear about this. Surely his ego wouldn't want to turn down that.

On the other hand his ego would probably be eying putting a solid distance between himself and Messi in terms of CL goals. Us getting eliminated in the group stages and now being in a bit of bother for top 4 probably isn't doing us much favours.

Do not want. Another aging striker on vast salary? Nope.

He's in a clear decline, his scoring stats show this. If he could still be the main man at Real there is no way he'd leave.

Let him go to Paris.

The fact that he is being said to slow down when he still putting up numbers like 25 in 24, at the moment, is really incredible. Just highlights how fantastic he's been for the last 8-9 years.

Exactly that's what I mean, no normal player could do what he's done. He's possibly declining now from "all time great" playing level to "normal world class player" level. Insane career he's had and still has a few years of top football in him yet.
