Cristiano Ronaldo | Transfer Speculation

He will only come of the economics work for United, Madrid and Ronaldo. I can't see that happening.

Yep, can't see this happening. He is 32 now and will want Neymar wages atleast. On top of that, Real will want around 150m euros for him. It makes no economic sense to United. He can sod off to China who'll be happy to pay him and Madrid.

Most annoying player we ever had. Our fans are even more annoying and awkward by singing his name still. Great player though.

He is attention seeking now because of Neymar. He wants the same money and the same attention for his marketing stuff. And what could be better then a return to Utd? I can see the adverts already with boy is coming home. He is using Utd again, but please Woodie don't fall for this! We are better with the young boys, they want to play for Utd. Another reason is that he is a Nike player, so Utd is unlikely, Paris was more.

Could see him going to Paris but not after Neymar. Neymar will outshine him in the next years as the biggest marketing name and can't see CR7 be able to play with such a player in the same team. He wants to be the main person with the most attention, it's like he is a child or something.

Great memories but stop using Utd for your personal interests, it's getting on my nerves...

Neymars will never reach the heights Cristiano and Messi reached.
Give it until they fade away and people will worship a new hero. Current greats are forgotten in the not so distant future and present greats are always the ' best ever'. He wont reach ronaldos or messis level no one ever will, but he still is a great player. Marketing wise he will be much bigger and now he is a top dog at a top club. Ronaldo is just bitter and uses utd for a bit of publicity every now and then.

Surely because of the business everyone has done so far it means no one can afford him? Only Barcelona, but that's not happening.

Imagine the scenes in the La Liga offices if a PSG bid got accepted by Real!

Neymars will never reach the heights Cristiano and Messi reached.

He may reach it, but its the consistency to stay at that level that will be nearly impossible. Messi And Ronaldo took footbal consistency to a whole another level.

Even if we pay 80m we make ourselves a joke. He chose to spend the best years of his career at madrid.

We are in his past and he should stay firmly in ours.

The thing is, if he genuinely wants to outdo Neymar the only hope he has would be to join Utd. Even if he signs a new contract at Madrid and gets the same wages Neymar is getting it would never be as high profile. Realistically there's only 3 clubs that can give him the wages and they're PSG, ourselves and City. City is a no go for obvious reasons. PSG would've been perfect for him but now that Neymar's gone there PSG should build the team around him. I don't think Neymar would be happy having left to become the main man and then having Ronaldo come and steal his limelight. Unless he wants to go to China or elsewhere (but then he's not in a competitive team) his best option is us. It would draw media attention worldwide, not to mention a huge campaign on our behalf to welcome him back.

Trophies are probably more important to Ronaldo anyway and as I said earlier Madrid are in great shape right now. There's really no reason to leave and I don't think he geniunely cares about the taxes. Only the damage to his reputation and image but that can be limited, by statements like the one he's giving in court.

I don't get why so many people are all upset with what he said in court.

No we wouldn't. The same could have been said or similar about Pogba. We had 6 good years and maybe he should have stayed longer. For me the best years were at OT because despite the heights he's achieved at Madrid - is it always fun? I don't think that kind of pressure is fun for anyone. A 32 year old Ronaldo would be our best player and he could play on for many years. I'm not saying I think it will happen but I think in business you have you put aside childish things. I remember the year before we sold him - some were saying sell him...if they had their way, we'd have only 5 great years. I'm sure when De Gea was looking like leaving - some already considered him gone. Neymars shown us that a lot of things can happen. While we can define 24-31/32 as prime years we could also say - show us what you've learnt..and it would be enough to win us the league. So do we act butt hurt at the expense of winning? We shouldn't. I think we're at a strange point in time where Barcelona have interesting options. They can turn a negative into a positive. Madrid have decisions to make because they might need to inject their own fantasy because there will be so much attention on Barcelona. If United want to win the league? It's a non brainer. He left not just for Madrid but because of the weather. Perhaps he's learnt that some bad weather isn't the worst thing and actually people live through it happily. His influence alone on the youth would be great. It's rash and personal to be offended at the idea. He's talked a lot but we've never had an offer accepted by Madrid or him to reject and I think at some point he was heavily linked to psg yet he didn't mention France (though he was talking about personal responsibility) . It's unlikely...but he's a father now and will have to grow up. If he feels he's better protected in England, and if he perhaps feels his kids would be looked after and protected ...then why not? Would the weather give him pause? I think if he had no kids leaving Spain wouldn't be in his head. We can't think of him as a playboy - he's also a father now and if he feels targeted then it's an issue.

He's not coming back. The only way it'd make sense for United now would be for a reduced fee so we could offer him £20m+ a year for the next 3-4 seasons and he has a long contract at Real so they won't let him go cheaply.

Mourinho never wanted him here, therefore Woodward won't pursue, especially after such antics. It's really a circus, now.

Ronnie will always be legend of the past and if he wanted to come back, he would probably do it already through Jose's agent.

From what I've heard on the radio I doubt that any offer has arrived in Madrid. It is not the first time he "threatens" to leave but then he realizes that no one is willing to pay him more than here. His only option was PSG (which kept a fixed offer on him, if someday Madrid wanted to sell). Now that option is gone.
As he said in the trial he does not understand accounting and being a public figure is very difficult to hide something, however the "I'm here because my name is Cristiano" was too much,as well as insist that Mendes had no idea of anything.

*my feelings to the endless, pointless 'Ronaldo returns' nonsense*

Anyone feel the same?

Seriously. I'm sure we'll be linked to him next year too. For the fee Madrid will be demanding and the wages he will be demanding, it's a no go for me. Let him stay at his 'dream club'.

He won't leave Madrid now. Barca have been weakened. It's all in their favour to win again.

It's all about his image and reputation with the tax issues. It must kill him that he's been reduced to the same level as Messi in that aspect.
Pretty much this. This is the first thing that came to my mind when he threw his toys out of his pram because he was always seen as a moral victor in that aspect and now he doesn't hold that card anymore.

If he wanted to come back to England he should not have signed a new five year deal.

I hope we aren't going to be the mugs to bail him out with some outrageous transfer fee going to RM.

I am a little sympathetic to him in that RM would have been promoting heavily how they will pay him less because he will be able to use all these different tax loopholes. So you can understand why he is furious. Especially if they won't give him a pay rise to cover any shortfall.

I don't get why so many people are all upset with what he said in court.
People are just bored with Ronaldo and Ronaldo related news now I think.

He's a great player but an absolute self obsessed drama queen. I don't want us near him and thankfully Jose doesn't fall for his nonsense.

I'm sure while he was in court giving a statement to the freaking judge he was thinking of ways he could get attention due to the Neymar transfer and get himself linked with Manchester United... Jesus Christ...

You can't actually be serious. One has been convicted of a crime, the other hasn't.

Keep at it though. You people really need to make a club. I actually don't know if it's just stupidity or if there's so much hatred simple logic goes out of the window. I do know there's complete ignorance in regard to what his tax case is about given that most people seem to have decided he's guilty when even experts are saying it's a very difficult case. If you actually stopped at the insults and didn't turn your hatred into propaganda and trying to diminuish his footballing achievements on a football forum it would be fine, but I'm guessing your strict moral judgement only goes so far and it's only applicable to others.

Offer him £20m+ a year when is on more than double that?

Don't waste your time. Just ignore it. They keep yapping and he keeps breaking records and winning. With Ronaldo is always polemic. Having said that, it gets tiresome to see Ronaldo always using the same strategy and mentioning England everytime he wants something.

I know you're being sarcastic but it's funny because that could actually be well...true. Why not? With Ronaldo, it's all about himself. He constantly needs to feed his ego and be in the limelight.

Yes I am serious, you have to read carefully into what I've said.
Pretty much this. This is the first thing that came to my mind when he threw his toys out of his pram because he was always seen as a moral victor in that aspect and now he doesn't hold that card anymore.

In my statement, I've not mentioned anything about him being guilty, I'm just saying he is making up such a big fuss because he felt that he doesn't hold that moral victor card anymore, over Messi. As AXVnee7 said, it's all about his image and reputation with the tax issues. It must kill him that he's been reduced to the same level as Messi in that aspect.

This is why he throws his toys out of his pram and make headlines for seeking a movie away from Real Madrid. Such a fecking drama queen. We are not ignorant or hating on him. It's clear as daylight that he's a selfish and egoistic drama queen who uses the name of Man Utd to feed his ego. I can't wait for the day he starts to declines and Real Madrid ships him out. Real Madrid has no sentimentality for their legends. That day will be coming and it would be glorious.

Anything he says is always thrown out of proportion and taken out of context for the benefit of others, clicks, views, shares, etc. He says he enjoys parts of England....oh transfer fodder!!!!!! He misses England....because he became a man, he was successful and appreciates his experience - transfer talk!!!!

Idk why either. He never said he wants to go back to us. He told the judge he wants England.

He can probably afford England on his wages too.
