Ronaldo gifted him an island. He's probably made more off Ron than he'll ever make off Mou given the wages on offer and the constant contract renewals. Also, Mou isn't a fool. He too must be playing similar games when buying. Keep everyone expectant till you seal your deals as per your convenience.Hmm I just can't see it.
I can't see Mendes going along with talking about Ronaldos demands with Jose, telling him it's possible he'll arrive etc all the while knowing that Ronaldo actually has no real intention of leaving.
If he did that, Mourinho would realise in the end what was happening. Don't forget that Mourinho is one of Mendes' biggest meal tickets. I don't think he'd risk messing that up and his relations with United up for Ronaldo.
Look at it from Mendes eyes. In 5 years time, Ronaldos value to Mendes will be low. Whereas he can rake it in from Mourinho and United for almost the rest of his life.
I love Ronny the player but he's the Mariah Carey of the footballing world. He makes the FIFA kiddies weak at the knees and demands attention all of the time. But Jose is building a team.
Supposedly. That's true but we were 48 hours from concluding Morata over a week ago

As @carvajal said, most people don't know the whole situation with hacienda. All they know, from the outside looking in, is that he's accused of defrauding Hacienda for almost €15M, which is to say, he's being accused of defrauding the spanish citizens. And he's now throwing a fit because Big Bad Hacienda will not give him preferential treatment, and is pissed at the club for being unable to force Big Bad Hacienda to give him preferential treatment, and for being unable to control ALL medias to prevent them from breaking the story(which, if you've followed the whole saga since it first began last fall, is complete BS on his part)
People don't understand him, and they are angry at the way he's behaving
Worried he's leaving? Of course. Are they saying feck him? Of course. Will he get stick if he stays? Depends on how he stays, but he's unlikely to come out completely unscathed from all this. Would we prefer to replace him with Mbappé? Many would right now
Perez is free to write him a check out of his own pocket if he wants. Not with club money, and not with public money
No it's not. He's under accusation from Hacienda(Spanish Treasury) of committing tax fraud for nearly €15M
Flo has begun the club's public defence and backing of the player, which has expected is a lot of words to say the club believes in him & in his good faith, while also clarifying that it's still ultimately the player's problem, not the club's
Yes, in total our commercial revenue is £268,3m (according to last years annual report), of which merchandising, apparel, retail and licensing make up £97,3m. I realize that I am, at least in part, somewhat mistaken. I'm not sure which how much of the money we're getting from adidas is for licensing, and how much of it is sponsorship, so we're probably making more than 22m outside of that deal. However, even if the full £97,3m, Ronaldo alone increasing that post by £15m per year is highly unlikely. And that's when operating with a transfer fee at the low end of the spectrum, and not including his wages (easily £40m gross per year, based on his current wage at Madrid).
As I said, the club will never be able to recoup the costs of bringing him here through merchandising (this goes for basically any player), so let's stop claiming that he'll pay for himself.
CONFIDENTIAL | Mourinho does not want to sign Cristiano trib.al/lc0jTF6 By @Carpio_Marca
Thankfully we have an intelligent manager in charge again. Jose won't want this parade to drag on all summer - I can't see us seriously bidding for him.
I am more excited about Morata, a winger and a new deep midfielder. Really can't see us meeting Rea's ridiculous demands.

Good. Close the thread and let's focus on players we could actually sign and are available.

Ridiculed and rightly so. And those who believe a word of anything that Marca publishes shall be ridiculed a further time for good measure.Weird if true. Those of us who voted no in that 'should we sign him' poll were ridiculed and told we were out of our minds.
Guessing those same people will be calling for Jose's head now?
It's Marca trying to spin.
Unfortunately for them Jose wants him. (Just my opinion of course).

You do realise whether this is all a smokescreen or not, Real can't sell Morata now. Hell, he may be wondering himself if all this is true he may be better off staying.Thankfully we have an intelligent manager in charge again. Don't think so. Jose's not stupid and will probably go with his plans as it's.
I was actually comparing Moyes' wild goose chase to Jose being efficient when it comes to knowing what he does and doesn't want. You think Zidane will want it to drag on all summer either? Also falls into the 'intelligent manager' category.
Jose wants to win, he won't care about the price as long as it doesn't affect other transfer business. I find it impossible to believe Jose isn't interested in bringing a 40+ goal a season striker to the club. The best player in the world, too. Ronaldo can win us the league and have us seriously competing in the CL. If there's any real possibility of bringing Ronaldo back we'll be all over it.
Yes why wouldn't we spend £130m+ on transfer fee and £150m+ on wages to sign a 32 year old who has been showings signs of decline and has needed more rest than before this last season. What could possibly go wrong?
Can't wait until Ronaldo retires, sick of this bullsh*t every year. We need to look forward not backwards.
buying ronaldo and building a team is not mutually exclusive
It is when we need half a dozen players and don't have an unlimited amount of money.buying ronaldo and building a team is not mutually exclusive
Cristia-NO Ronald-off
Wonderful creativity. You'll get promoted in no time at all.
