Cristiano Ronaldo | Transfer Speculation

Ronaldo has got himself into a situation, which would have largely suited him up until now, where he really can't leave Madrid unless they want him to. Even if they did, his wages are astronomical not to mention the fee that would be involved. They are surely stuck with each other for another couple of years?

I think Madrid were not expecting this, so I do not think it has anything to do with Morata, although if Cristiano finally leaves, perhaps they won´t accept to negotiate for Morata.

I understand this, but surely if he has agreed or signed personal terms, how would he now suddenly feel about this situation?
Does he really want to leave Madrid?
Now that Cristiano has thrown a spanner in the works, does he rethink that maybe, he can be the main Man?
What about all that he has said in the reported news?
Sorry, I know, wrong thread, just curious on your opinion.

I love Ronaldo the player, but really can't get over the fact that he chose Madrid over United. I understand why he did it. But it ruined him for me as a future United player as he chose to spend his prime years somewhere else.

Yes, he wants to leave for lack of minutes. I think he is a very good option for Manchester but I don´t think he will ever be the main man here.
In any case it seems a very remote option, but what is clear is that it will delay the signing of Morata.
What reported news you mean? About Cris or Morata?

For anyone that might be interested, Graham Hunter was on a football radio show here in Ireland this evening talking about the Ronaldo situation.

The tl;dr version is he's fed up at Madrid, as they don't protect him, whereas United did/do and know how to treat top players. He also went on to say that Ronaldo has told lots of people, including former teammates, in the last few weeks (he intimated it was said in Cardiff) that he wouldn't want to play for United again due to the Manchester weather.

Please don't bother quoting me to tell me how much of a twat Graham Hunter is, how he knows nothing or how he looks just like an actual massive penis. I don't care. I'm just posting the interview in case it interests anyone. Other things I don't care about are your opinion on iTunes, iPhones or other people who look like massive human penises.

That's really not true. 9 times out 10 when a player is very determined to leave they get their wish. Clubs do not want to keep an unhappy player

The question is in this whole story is what the player wants

It's amazing how all these journalists have suddenly got a story about this whole thing.

I think it's becoming increasingly obvious that Ronaldo wants the world to idolise and adore him...oh and all the money in the world...and to not pay tax. Only then will he be truly happy with life.

About Morata, having agreed terms and wanting playing time at Madrid.
Thanks for the reply.

Yes but in this situation the wages and transfer fee are so far above the norm nobody can realistically pay either.

Normally it would be possible to make an offer the selling club can't refuse. Most of the time a player can be comforted by the thought of higher wages.

The figures we are likely to be talking, here, make any move prohibitive, in my view.

My gut feeling is that there's no way Mourinho would want him at the club.

Mourinho is a very insecure person and I think he'd feel that his authority could be threatened with CR7 in the locker room.

I think it´s done. He wants to play the World Cup and not miss the best years of his career.

Hope Mbappe is watching this and is put off by the whole situation. This is what happens when you become a part of that circus.

my minds telling me noooooooo.... but my muppet.. my mupppppeetttttt s telling me yeesssss :drool:

He doesnt want him at the club because Ronaldo's proven to be a willing mutineer. The moment things dont look rosy on the pitch he'll be the gang leader to push the manager out the door.

And you know this how?

Because it will never happen?

Arguably the best player in the world right now, winner of back to back CL titles, still in his prime and on course to keep on breaking every possible record, would just say feck it and return to his struggling home team. This isn't a movie.

I actually agree, I think Mourinho would have every right not to want Ronaldo in the locker room!

Good, I hope,we sign him, but back to the Ronaldo speculation, I would love to see him end his career at United, it would make a fitting end.
He has achieved so much and maybe he just wants that nostalgia to really stamp his Legend of GOAT on the game by returning to United and winning us a League Title:)

 We are not real Madrid. The manager is the boss here.

I don't think Morata will be the main man in Madrid at all, if Ronaldo left, he'll leave for ridiculous fee, allowing them to sign Mbappe and may even a winger, like Hazard for example. Morate will still be on their bench no matter what, and I'm sure he knows this.

One question I have over this is how the Madrid fans will react to him even if he stays. We know how unbearable they can be normally but give them cause... I can imagine them getting on his back at the first sign of bad performances given that they did it anyway before this saga began.

No because we didn't know the tax fraud crisis for Ronaldo was going to happen, unless Ed was the one who planned it!

Let's see how this evolves but if he really does quit madrid we will really have a huge huge desicion to make on our hands. Weather to buy him or buy two attacking players in his price. But this does force morata deal on hold so we might not get him if Ronaldo leaves.

I won't have much hope. I'll say 99% chance that Perez will solve his problems and he'll stay and we'll get Morata. I'll be happy with Morata anyway.

That's my feeling as well. I believe they rate Morata quite highly over there, but if Ronaldo does leave they'll need to replace his 40+ goals a season, and I reckon they'll feel Morata would give them 30 at best. If Ronaldo does leave (a big if) Mbappe will become a must for them, and I could see Abumayang coming in as well (or instead). In fact, if Ronaldo leaves, you're probably going to see a massive restructure of that side; so much of the way they play is set up to get the best out of Ronaldo.

Yep, Benzema for example will be useless, as his only benefit was to help Ronaldo scoring. He'll get replaced with Mbappe and Hazard or Auba.

Yeah but that deal is now prolonged to God knows when.
