Still scoring just a goal a game, hope Allegri releases the shackles so he can start scoring hatricks every other game..

That run for the goal was class. He looked so far ahead of the defenders that you thought he must've been offside, but of course he wasn't.

The balls to put that penalty there...

He needs Mandzukic back so he can go back to playing his natural position, he's alright at striker and they'll win the league anyway but it's a waste to see him play this way.

Is he not going to get a rest at all for Juve? I think part of doing so well in the CL was being rested by Madrid, but seems like he's playing 90 minutes of pretty much every match at Juve

I just saw that he's yet to score a hat-trick in Juve colors, are Allegri's tactic restricting him or is he declining a bit?

I think expecting a player who will make 34 this month to be at the same level as he was 5 years ago isn't expected.

Answering your question about Allegri. The only thing I can say to you is that I gave up watching Juventus.

At best will only watch highlights. If I want to see good football on Serie A I think Napoli, Sampdoria or Atalanta are more fun to watch. Depends on your taste.

Juve aren't an attacking team and Allegri isn't an attacking manager.

Juve play like Mourinho's game plan gone right.

The man just scored two goals and has his first year in a new league. Bloody hell

It was a genuine question, he hasn't been putting up same numbers by his absurdly high standards so I asked if it's physical or tactical with him.

He was scoring like crazy in early 2018, I think his returns have been more modest at Juve. I'm just intrigued if Allegri's tactics are in anyway restricting him because even under the most defensive managers he was scoring ton of goals in the past.

Juve aren't an attacking team and Allegri isn't an attacking manager.

I thought buying a player of Ronaldo's quality would mean he'd be open to a more attacking game, I guess not.

I decided to stop watching full matches of them since last week when they playing shit somehow won at Lazio. Highlights are ok for me with them.

Hardly. Allegri is using him to add more cutting edge but they're not going to change their style. If he ends scoring 35, it'll be magnificent even if it's less than his previous seasons, but due to Juve.

Only to add while I think their midfield is good enough for Serie A, I don't think they have enough quality to win the Champions League. As a matter of fact I think Atletico will beat them.

Atletico are hardly brimming with quality in midfield themselves, it'll be a very tactical match but if Juve crash out in first KO stage then it is a disaster. Many of their players are in the latter stages of their career, with every passing year chances of winning CL lessens.

He is on 19 at the moment, so it'll be interesting if his scoring rate goes up in 2nd half of the season. A lot will depend on their run in CL I guess.

It's the 2nd of February and Juventus haven't scored 4 goals in a game one single time this season. Pretty sure you can look through the top half of the table in any league and you'll strugle to find a team with a similar record at this stage of the season. Once they grab a lead they tend to slow down and play defensively.

Did the same tonight, it usually works but as it was shown tonight or in the 1-2 vs United it has it flaws.

Rooney-Ronaldo, Benzema-Ronaldo or Mandzukic-Ronaldo? What's the better partnership?

Rooney / Ronaldo.
People say he became more direct and less flashy at Madrid but that's because he had a lesser player to play off of at number 9 IMO.
I never though of Benzema / Ronaldo as a partnership.

@Peyroteo Benzema, if anything the amount of years together, goals and Champions League titles are enough.

I think those 3 partnerships and the 3 countries he was playing in are a good representation of the journey he had.

Rooney-Ronaldo in England, fast paced and powerful, a nightmare for defenses on the counter, amazing goals, etc.

Benzema-Ronaldo in Spain, very technical, intelligent movement and understanding between them, definitely the most complete of the three...

Mandzukic-Ronaldo in Italy, cynical, experienced, great at scoring from crosses and overloading the box

Anyone who argues Ronaldo should be playing as striker only needs to watch the past few Juve matches to understand why it's a terrible idea. He's alright at it but unless the circumstances are great for it, it will end up restricting him more often than not. We should always be playing him next to André Silva for the NT.

I think its abit of everything. Juventus approach in the game is restrictive and very different from Real, and Ronaldo is also turning 34 and in a new league which is renowned for its defensive tactic/approach. Bear in mind he has to handle completely new environment, new teammates, new football style, ageing issues and all that, but he is still scoring alot of goals (Serie A top scorer at the moment with 17 goals). Yes he scoring ratio has drop bit from his usual high standard (1 goals per game in average), but his overall game has actually improved too.
