From Spain it appeared something very solid, way more solid than De Jong going to United by the way, but either way it does show the lack of direction of a club such as Manchester United.
I know he's your legend and all but you don't have to be a dick about United as a result.

I doubt he'll mutually terminate his contact which means his last act is he'll likely take a bunch of cash with him if we release him?

All the slave nonsense was kind of forgotten in the passing of years and his warm relationship with Ferguson ensured I had fond memories of him, being in Moscow that night in 2008, but this has tainted him in a way my memory of Mark Hughes has been tainted.

In hindsight, United's romanticism (and the Glazer's marketing department) has once again been its downfall.

Hardly???
His movement is finished completely .
His shooting on goal has become erratic.
He's 38 and barely able to stand tall in the ground without falling on the floor a thousand times.
At premier league level maybe. In Portugal he wound still score near 30 easily. He was the third top scorer in England last season.

Messi scored 6 goals last season and this season he’s back again. I would think Ronaldo is not done yet. Especially with all that has happened this season.

Good for Ronaldo. Any good coach would undoubtedly bench him. ;)
Exactly.

Portuguese fans are starting to realise though, I reckon after the world cup the calls for him to be dropped will start to come from their fans.

Its telling that he chose two of our brightest moments this season to put the spotlight on him, for wrong reasons. It must have hurt his ego that our best performances have come without him in the team and he cannot digest the fact.

I doubt it as they see him as their god and savior. Most of them would probably blame the manager or the team tbh, actually some may even blame United

I wonder if ten Hag would have vetoed (or been allowed to) a move for him had he been in situ at the time?

Ronaldo is DONE mate and if you can't see it in him then you can't evaluate the player going beyond his sell-by date.

Why would you want to put this toxic prick in with the reserves who are still young and learning?
Good point. Paying him off is too good for him though. Make him train on his own.
I’d make him train on his own and put him on the bench for the U23s every game. I’d sub him on with 3 mins to go every game. If he refuses to turn up or be subbed on, fine him 1 week wages. Keep repeating till the end of his contract. Win win.

No, the club clearly needs to spend big money on Carrington and Old Trafford, he’s not wrong there. I have posted this several times but with the proviso that Ronaldo is saying this stuff now, rather than last season, because last season he was a guaranteed starter and had CL football.

Making out like nothing has changed though is completely untrue.

All I’m stating is what is true, and what aint.
He’s talking about when he arrived back at the club. There was an article saying he personally requested the pool be retiled or something to that effect.

The fact we are where we are as a club indicates standards have fallen. From what I’ve seen - decision making, transfer dealings, contract renewals, lack of improvement to the stadium etc, even failing to have a data science department or DoF until recently are enough to form the opinion that we have been run like a shit-show.

Imo the reason he’s saying this now is he doesn’t care anymore or is actively trying to burn his bridges as others have said.

Im not defending Ronaldo but I’m keen for the criticism of him doesn’t turn into defending all the club is doing/not doing when we have been saying the above for years and the evidence would suggest there is truth in those aspects. Don’t forget how good the owners and brains at the club are at controlling the narrative in the media.

The fans have wanted santos gone since 2018…..

Rio had an absolute mare on that five live show with Charrager. He's so clueless.

I haven’t watched any clips or read the article in the Sun. Can anyone who has done their due diligence explain what Ronaldo’s moaning about? Has he actually come out and said he should have got more minutes than he has? Or is there something else bothering him? Hard to work out from the snippets so far. If he really thinks his performances this season have deserved more game time that means he is unbelievably deluded.

The most direct stuff I've read referencing to something like that would be the bit were he states he hasn't been 'respected' by ETH. So he hasn't been too specific what the issue has been but it should be obvious he's trying to force a move.

I suspect it's not only the minutes alone but how he has been managed, and treated, he's very demanding and difficult to manage so it's something it needs to be adressed by the club. Try to get him in line or simply get rid of him. Is one of those issues were is best both parties are transparent with their intentions.

To be fair I remember there has been report last season with him moaning about old swimming pool facilities at Carrington, causing potential health hazard. The club has then followed up with renovation/improvement works after he had made such complain. It is not something totally out of the blue for this time only.

That would be more reasonable and I don't know about the swimming pool. But on the topic of pools, the hydrotherapy pools are in the medical center which is from 2013.

At what level?

If in Portugal he scored 25-30 goals that’s hardly being “DONE mate”.

Grow up.

I find the idea that people not only accept but agree with his alleged statement about the facilities, baffling. Unless the man is blind and can't see that he is in a revamped dressing room at carrington and Old Trafford or that there are litteral new buildings that were there in 2009, there is no way to explain his claims.
I'd say even if he is right, what kind of player doesn't do their due diligence over such stuff before moving? Heck even us mere mortals make sure to ask and find out as much about a company or workplace before we join. Mendes has so many clients play for us lately. Why didn't he ask him? Why didn't he ask people at the club he knows personally? This statement that he is shocked by the facilities is absolute bollocks.

I know you're a good guy and understandably like Ronaldo. Last season I think you would've been totally right, he would've smashed it in Portugal. But have you seen many of his matches this season? He looks physically shot and his finishing is also way below what it once was. It's more than questionable how much he'd contribute in Portugal by now, at least in my opinion

I think we try to forget about him for a whole, and not give him a platform. That's the trouble with today's world there are loads of platforms to keep bullshit going, not like when only papers and TV news would be forgotten after 2 days.

Concrete details are limited so far. The only really specific complaint is that he felt hurt that some people in the club doubted him when he said he couldn't return to pre-season for family reasons. Beyond that it's complaints about standards around the club dropping and vague claims of betrayal, disrespect, people trying to force him out and people not wanting him there even last season.

When did he score 25-30 goals in Portugal ??
Which team?
Jesus hun wake up.

If he goes to Portugal and scores 25-30 goals in that league then how does that mean he’s “DONE.

You think Portugal barely qualified because of Ronaldo and not the coach?

Did you not see the game he Spain in the nations league where we only needed a draw vs the worst Spain team in years at home and Fernando santos decided to defend for 90 minutes only to concedes at the very end like the loser coach he is?

Oh wait no I’m sorry or was it ronaldo who made that decision?
'The worst Spain team in years' will beat you with Ronaldo starting up front for you no matter who your manager is. He's failed to score in 8 of your last 9 games and has played terribly in every single one. It's one thing sacrificing for him when he's banging in goals, it's another thing sacrificing for him when he can't hit a barn door. Let's see what happens this world cup because if Santos wants to keep his job he'll have to take Ronaldo off or drop him, both of which will cause Ronaldo to have another episode and then you'll see how much of a team player your idol is.

That's not true or a universal truth. My family in Portugal have been clamoring for him to be dropped for a while

That's exactly what i said but he can't understand that Ronny is finished.
Time catches up with everyone.

I could of sworn he laughed after saying the “I’m better looking part” almost as if he said that jokingly. But people took it literal.

Have to see the full interview to see
Serious question - Are you paid to defend him online? Otherwise I can't imagine putting so much effort into arguing and talking absolute nonsense. If you disagree with the narrative here simply don't read this thread...or the entire media actually cause everyone seems to agree for once Ronaldo is a cnut here.

He done as a player for a competitive league. Its ridiculously obvious to anyone who isn't biased. Even huge ronaldo fans on this site can see he's been absolutely cooked as a player.

I thought Messi was finished this time last year, I'm still surprised by his comeback. I still wouldn't rule either of the two freaks out, although a Ronaldo comeback seems a lot less likely at this stage.

I mean, this time last year Messi joined a new club, started injured and struggled, yes, but only a few months before that he won the Copa America with 4 goals, 5 assists in 7 games, having been named MOTM in almost every one of them. That's without mentioning that his half-season with Barcelona was so good that they almost crawled back a big points haul to win the league. You don't go from that last year to finished in the space of a few months.

I could be wrong but I feel part of his form this season is due to the fact that he hates where he is at and does not want to be their. I feel as though he has half way quit and he can’t wait to go to another club and be genuinely happy.
