There have been multiple reports we would be open to letting him leave for free.
But clearly he is looking for a payoff to leave. Even after this debacle, I'm sure his team made sure he worded everything very carefully before doing this interview. Just to ensure he isn't in breach of his contract.

I doubt it. If he breached his contract, then the club should be allowed to terminate it. Ronaldo can of course take the club to court, but he'll lose then.
If it's a grey area then I reckon Ronaldo will be allowed to leave without pay. The alternative is him rotting in the reserves for half a year and he will not accept that.
Agreed. People kind of forgot that the first "organized" campaign by his camp was about Rangnick and also his potential wage cut if we don't make the CL, it was in January 2022.

It's deliberately planned to be marginal I suspect. The worst that can happen is he gets sacked and his contract ripped up. If he's lucky he gets half a season at half a million a week. Of course if he cared about his reputation he wouldn't have done this so clearly he doesn't.
