For United, it's targetting the manager. The modern day slavery comments from Blatter were inconsequential because they were blatant BS and they weren't specific to United.

Except the fact that Ronaldo went on TV and confirmed he agreed with the statement.

But I guess thats not disrespectful enough for you.

I thought you were angry at him?

So now its about despising him?

Goal posts just keep moving

Despise was your word you lunatic.

If you keep making up the goalposts they will be hard for others to focus on.

The guy is a wanker who I never wanted back.

My issue with you is your trying to shut down people venting. And it's still not clear why.

Every now and again I realize how utterly absurd this world is.

"Ronaldo might be fined £1m (2 weeks' wages) as part of his punishment."

2 weeks. £1m. £1 million.
I think the club should just come up with excuses to fine him until the end of his contract so as to avoid paying him.

To make matters worse, Ronaldo will have done the square root of feck all in the last two weeks aside from have a chat with some Arsenal supporting bellend.

It's obvious he feels "betrayed" by Murtough and Arnold for employing first RR & then Ten Hag, two managers that are the exact opposite of how Ronaldo thinks a game should be played (built around him).

He signed for Ole-ball, and ended up at 37 being told to run and block passing lanes.

Feel very sorry for RR now, was on an absolute hiding to nothing, clear by this interview that the likes of Ronaldo ridiculed and undermined him at every opportunity. The sad thing for Ronaldo is that 37 year old actually thinking he's good enough to be built around, he's gonna have a rude awakening at his new club for sure.

"Manchester United notes the media coverage regarding an interview by Cristiano Ronaldo.
The club will consider its response after the full facts have been established.
Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief and togetherness being built among the players, manager, staff, and fans."

There you have it

feck off Ronaldo.

It's a really tough one for Man United. One the one hand they'll want to get rid asap, sacking him for breach of contract (or something similar). On the other hand, they'd exactly what Ronaldo wants them to do and why he's done this interview.

When and where did I try to do that?

Now you're just making things up :wenger:

This was from my original post:

I’m surprised people are so angry at Ronaldo.

I'm just offering my viewpoint as to why he is doing what he is doing. He has angered me more in the past with his antics and as I repeated many times, I'm past that stage. Just my own opinion and feelings shared.

Its amazing what Ronaldo does to people. Its incredibly polarising and I have to say I tried to avoid most of the Ronaldo vs Messi threads in the past for precisely this reason.

Who cares what Ronaldo wants or not. He is toxic and cannot play for us again. End of.

United waiting for Wednesday it seems.

Nice last sentence. It's not accidental they wrote that.

Part of me wants us to go down this route. The guy is a coward. Lied against the club when it's him that has been agitating. Doing so in an interview just before the world cup and feigning sickness so he wouldn't be part of the squad. Cnut.

Yeah - you're right there. At what point will he find some self-awareness? Has he seen himself play this season? He hasn't just been below average, he's been outright shocking in most games. The days of him being the focal point of an elite team are over.

fecking hell it keeps getting worse.

Worse ? I'd say better

If unilateral termination of the player contract is not legal (there are clauses in US player and manager contracts that allow for termination under vague “interest of the club” grounds) under UK law or FA regulations, and assuming no club comes in for him, the clear path forward for ETH is to not include Ronaldo in future matchday squads and no inclusion of Ronaldo in training sessions, not even the U23 squad.

I realize we’re talking about £30 million going up in smoke, but if we can’t terminate his contract then we certainly can’t reward Ronaldo by buying out his contract and then letting him to another club in January.

I think he wants the compensation though personally. The rumours were we were happy to let him leave for free in the summer, this is all about the money I think.

I'd imagine he's not stupid enough to have done this interview without legal advice either so maybe he knows sacking is unlikely, but doing the interview in the first place is stupid so who knows.

It will be a mutual termination.

Should've let him go in the summer instead of forcing him to stay, this was always going to happen.

Completely agree.

Unless he goes to a team that is comprehensively the best in its league, meaning he doesn't have to do any kind of off the ball work, where does he fit?

Nobody in Europe plays like he wants to play. Nobody in Europe has the other 10 players doing all the work for 1 man. Haaland sometimes doesn't have many touches of the ball. However, Pep expects him to be constantly on the move to make his system work.

In the summer Ronado wanted Bayern. Just look at Choupo-Moting's stats on FBREF. For tackles Choupo-Moting is in the 95th percentile, for interceptions the 83rd percentile, for blocks the 74th percentile. Does anyone believe Ronaldo could function in Nagelsmann's system?

At the top of European football there's nowhere obvious he can go to be a goal hanger, which is clearly what he wants. At his age he knows he doesn't have the stamina to do what elite teams need their forwards to do, yet he still wants to play for an elite side. Its very strange.

All the things such as United no longer being best in class are the only reasons why Ronaldo is here in the first place.

United we’re his level last season & are well above it this year despite still needing to improve.

It's absolutely clear. The one's who don't get fans being upset or taking the piss, are partly / fully entrenched in the culture of player worship to the extent where they don't actually see the club as being above all.

Here it is - Regulations on the status and transfer of players

14 Terminating a contract with just cause

1. A contract may be terminated by either party without consequences of any kind (either payment of compensation or imposition of sporting sanctions) where there is just cause.

2. Any abusive conduct of a party aiming at forcing the counterparty to terminate or change the terms of the contract shall entitle the counterparty (a player or a club) to terminate the contract with just cause.

I want ronaldo come to back to Manchester United, so Erick Ten Hag can knock him straight out.
